What’s interesting is that I don’t think Richie showed up in the first issue, though I think he did in a couple issues later. As I recall, he was supposed to be gay in the comics but never fully committed, and they definitely couldn’t in the animated series.

The flirting thing is straight out of the comic, complete with “ma cherie.” Though in the first issue it came after Static saved her from Hotspot.
