  • The usual assortment of Dawn of DC mags
  • Beast World schtuff
  • Non-Dawn reads (World’s Finest, Superman '78: The Metal Curtain and, among others, Batman #428’s new go-around)
  • Manga (Everything but the Joker title)
  • Kneel Before Zod #1 (saving the best for last)

Joe Casey was one of my favorite writers in the '00s. To have him back at DC and on a Superman-related title is most swell and very schway. I kneel to him and his tenacity for writing kick-ass comics.

My membership expired last month. I didn’t renew for this very reason. I was just checking to see and feel I made the right decision. They ignore their own history and lifelong fans!

I have a DC Comics quandary…

I’m reading the Beast World event and this morning I started reading ‘Titans: Beast World Tour: Metropolis #1’ (which dropped this week on DCUI Ultra) and saw this on Page 2:

…but ‘Titans: Beast World #2’ doesn’t drop on DCUI Ultra until next week and was, in fact, designed to be released after this book. But it seems like this book will contain spoilers for that book, no? Or else why would they put that in there?

So…do I continue reading Titans: Beast World Tour: Metropolis or stop, wait to read Titans: Beast World #2 first and then come back to this?

I read them in release order in comic shops not Ultra order since some Ultra books are same days as comic shops and other are a month later.

Read it and not only was there a story from AFTER the events of Beast World #2, there was a story from after the events of Beast World #3! Wow!

Glad I read it, though, as it was a banger and had a helluva tease for what’s to come in DC for 2024!

For the first time in a long time I’m actually caught up on the DCUI Ultra releases and am waiting for Tuesday to arrive to get some new comics to read! Guess I’ll have to dig into some of the stories and adventures from the past that I missed or want to re-live.

Yeah, in this case release order and Ultra order are the same – but the stories are being released out of chronological order anyway. Which, given the content of the stories themselves, is really no big deal. This whole event was sold on “people across the DCU are turning into animal creatures,” and knowing that as the premise, the stories in BWT: Metropolis don’t really spoil anything we don’t already know; they’re just glimpses ahead.
