I’ve been looking forward to reading DC vs. Vampires, and I read the first issue of Dark Knights of Steel when it came out and really liked it, so I’m excited to see them arriving here! Also Superman vs. Lobo, especially since I somehow missed the first issue and can read that now. :smiley:

A Dick Grayson origins story (sort of). It starts off with Dick recently orphaned and follows his journey as he tries to figure out how life goes after that point.

Written by Jeff Lemire and art by Dustin Nguyen, it’s a really, really good read.

One thing I’ve noticed is that in our efforts to collect the Milestone catalogue, we’ve been missing Shadow Cabinet and Xombi. The “Shadow War” crossover which runs through every title just a few issues in is unreadable without them. Are there any plans to rectify this?

I’d suspect this is the 10 page previews for this year’s two finalists. Similar to last year, we got a one shot Round Robin in May. It’s now grouped with the series Robins, but technically has a different title.

Issue 2 would imply that it’s the same “series” as last year’s, so maybe after it’s out we’ll have a separate way to browse the Round Robin “annuals” independently from the ultimate winners.

What am I excited to read? I continue to wait for the old comics I’ve requested month after month. Warlord, Weird War Stories, Sgt. Rock, The Haunted Tank, etc.

I’d love to see the old Edgar Rice Burroughs comics, but I suspect these may have licensing restrictions.

In short…I don’t care at all about anything on this list. I just come here once a month hoping it will be different. It never is.

I mean, by now we should be able to read every Batman story-- as a for instance-- since, oh 1964, and the “New Look” era. But… we can’t.

The librarian, historian, and reader in me are all deeply offended.

I have made the difficult decision to essentially say goodbye to my LCS and fully embrace DC Universe Infinite. For years now I’ve been a hybrid reader who waits six months for many titles to appear on here before I read them but still buying some issues the moment they are released to get in on the fun of reading them “first”. As a result my timelines are all out of whack. For example I read Justice League the moment it comes out but wait six months to see what happened in Nightwing issue that was release the same week.

Well no more! Starting now I’m done at my LCS and will read all my DC books here on DC Universe Infinite. I may still buy some titles if I want to collect them or because I loved a cover but for reading purposes I’m waiting six months to read it all. This will hurt the excitement of events and will surely lead to spoilers well before I get to read a book but financially it’ll save me a fortune. $74.99 a year to read it all as opposed to that same $74.99 a year + the hundreds I was spending at my LCS is just no comparison.

So for me ‘Dark Crisis’ won’t start until 2023 but so be it - when it does I’ll be fired up and ready to read every panel without having to pay one cent more than I’ve already paid. So these “What’s New on DC Universe Infinite” posts will become even more important to me than they already are. At $74.99 a year this place is a GREAT value and from now on I’ll be reading things all in order without jumping around.
