Good eagle eyes! I’ve seen this episode many time & never notice it! I’m mostly paiding attention to the characters and the casket!

Whenever they revisit Jonathan’s death from now on, it is always handled beautifully (IMO). We have a long arc of the fallout from his death and how it shapes the characters going forward. This weeks episode deals with the stages of grief, and how much harder/dangerous it is when you’re super. The next chapter of Smallville has begun!
