Oh no, the Manhunter series was removed. Hopefully temporarily. I started that and meant to get back to reading it after finishing Batgirl (2011).

Thanks Mae!

Tell me, What did you think of Ruby Rose as Batwoman in that epic Elseworlds crossover? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well seeing as Batwoman is my favorite character or near the top anyway, I was very excited about Ruby because I loved her in OITNB even though her part was small, but I also just liked her as a person. Then they revealed the costume and I thought it was amazing! I even started a thread here just for her:

So yeah I thought she was great as both Kate and Batwoman, and I just cannot wait for her own series. It should be amazing with all the characters they’re adding. Sounds like they’re doing the Alice storyline from the comics, so that’s just fine :relieved:

Awesome! Yeah, we can never get enough Rubi Rose for sure <3

She is just too beautiful! She sounds good singing in this video of her with long blonde hair too :slight_smile:

We just had another big addition to the comics library and a great series was added, Bombshells United: https://www.dcuniverse.com/comics/series/bombshells-united-2017/c3821767-8040-4ec2-9fb9-4ff80a578e66

Bombshells is superb; plus we get a surprise complete run of Gotham City Garage … a twelve-issue mini featuring Barbara Gordon as … you’ll never guess

Whenever I get done with my Bird of Prey epic binge, I believe I’ll be reading as much Wonder Woman comics as possible. The WW84 trailer has me super excited and I think reading everything WW post-Crisis will be just peachy!

It’s a Star & STRIPE is a great run as is Power Girl. The 89 Huntress run is good as well.

And while heartily concur that DCSHG would be such a great add to the service.

Yes, the 1989 Huntress series is so good, it’s one of my favorite DC stories ever!

@Mae,

I haven’t read the 1989 Huntress series since, well, 1989/90. But, yes, I remember it being great… and different from most of DC’s other superhero books at the time. Perhaps, if the series had been slightly more integrated into the DCU proper, it might have lasted longer. While I’m not a big fan of Joe Staton, his artwork on the series was quite good; he used a unique shading technique that gave the art a moody feel that contributed to the series’ noir tone. Interestingly, the book was labeled “Suggested for Mature Readers,” before that type of label became common.

Just in case other DCUers don’t know, the 1989 series actually wraps-up in “Justice League International Special #2,” which spotlights the Huntress. This issue is not included with the rest of the 1989 series in DCU’s library.

Yeah that’s one missing issue from our library sadly, and I doubt it’s high on the list of things to digitize. Though maybe with the Birds of Prey movie, maybe?

I’m just going to echo Stars and STRIPE. So good. Probably Johns’ best work. There’s other stuff, too, but it looks like people have covered most of the stuff that I’d recommend already. The current Lois Lane series is EXCELLENT, if you aren’t reading it. (100% no bias just because it has Renee Montoya in it, I promise. :wink:)
