  1. I mean, it depends on how you’re looking at it. The common answer is usually Superman, but some people consider Dr. Occult to be one and he was published first. In continuity, probably The Spectre because he’s been around for eons. Just covering my bases for when the modifier strikes while I’m at work.

  • Superman! He was the first superpowered hero to actually take off and make the genera. Sure he didn’t come out of a vacuum and there were lots of other characters at the time starting to tip into that realm but Superman was the Citizen Kane, the Bob Dillion if you will, of comic books. :superman:
