Upon further thought, I will be so brave (and bold) to say that the Page Punchers Black Manta is indeed the all-time best mass market-released Black Manta figure.
My heart belongs to DCUC of course, but I’m also honest and give credit where its due. Its certainly due to McFarlane’s initial Manta and then some, because every time I noodle around with it, I enjoy the figure more and more, especially with all of the fine detail he has sculpted into his suit.

This is true. McFarlane definitely has the edge on a few DCUC pieces, and is easily and vastly further ahead of where Mattel’s collector-based product was three years into their tenure with the DC license.
