In my headcanon, every fictional universe exists and every collected group shares its own multiverse, thus allowing for such crossovers as Batman/TMNT, Justice League/Power Rangers, Justice League/Black Hammer and all the others.

It was Scott Snyder who said that if he was allowed to do anything he wanted, DARK NIGHTS: METAL would have ended with the Source Wall breaking, and there on the other side was Silver Surfer.
