Thoughts on Zack Snyder's SnyderVerse Event?

As a huge SnyderVerse supporter, I am so excited for this event! I understand there are many DC fans out there that aren’t a fan of his work, but I absolutely enjoyed it. I also heard this event will be a tribute to his late daughter, Autumn. Since the DCEU is ending anyway, I am happy Zack is doing this because I’ve honestly grown up with these movies, especially BvS (yes, I LOVE it). What are your guys’ thoughts?

screening all three in black and white would be a great experience.

I like the movies, and I think the charity angle is obviously very commendable. I just don’t look forward to the debates that will inevitably follow, whether its from folks who think that Snyder is the only one that can make good DC movies, or those that think he ruined everything.

Seems like a cool event in general, but considering it’s happening on the other side of the country from me, it’s not like I can get all that excited for it. I do wish just the screenings were happening in a lot more places, even w/out the Q&As. I’d definitely jump at the chance to watch ZSJL on the big screen if it was at a theater near me

I was considering getting tickets, apparently, they sold out in like 10 minutes though… BUT it’s still for AFSP!

I liked his take, it actually kinda got me into comics and is a reason I’m here.

As if both cults haven’t been screeching at each other more than ever since the Gunn announcement.

Anyway, would love to go, but unfortunately these kinds of things cost money, and I also need money to live after said event. :upside_down_face: I think Snyder has said that he’ll be telecasting some of the event, so at least we’ll get to see all that.

I’m glad for his fans, that at least some will get to see these films they like on the big screen.

I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade with my dislike of these films. So I’ll just leave it at no, personally I’m not excited.

The real answer to this would be to give Zach one more film and let him finish his story under the Elseworlds banner.

Having your cake and eating it too.

Too expensive. His films cost a fortune for what they make, The Snyder Cut by most estimates did not make his money back, and his fans will then just say to give him more films that will cost 500 million dollars.

It’s a very cool thing he’s doing for the AFSP.

I’d have loved to go as these movies are far and away my favorite representations of these characters in live action so far. But distance and funds always get in the way amongst other things.

Like I said, I’m not a fan and would love to bash them for this. But in fairness- it was released direct to streaming, so it wasn’t given a fair chance to make money back.

Sure it was. Snyder promised it would cost 10 million and it cost 70 million.

I think that if DC were to announce something like that, the timing should have been a few days after ZSJL was released. One more movie, wrap up the Darkseid story, and figure things out from there. Doing it now, even as an elseworld, wreaks of “we don’t know what to do”. I think WB would do well to stick to their plans… for once.

What makes up the trilogy?

It looks like a cool event. Is it all one day thought? Because that is a LONG time to sit in a teater. Hell, just the Snyder Cut JLA movie would be a long time for me. But that aside, it definnitely seems like it would be fun especially for Snyderverse fans.

I do see a lot of people trying to push this is going to be the announcement Universal or someone “bought the Snyderverse and now Zack Snyder’s vision will be complete” and I do wish people would let it go, and stop trying to spin everything as a sign that we will defenitely get the Snyderverse finished somewhere else, because that is not happening. (granted, I was one of the ones who said the Snyder Cut JLA would never happen and was obviously wrong. But I also think anyone should be able to see how that is not the same). So I wish some people would stop endlessly setting themselves up to be angry and dissapointed.

But again, this does seem like a cool idea and sure most who go in will go in knowing what it is.

Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

The funny thing is, I think it is possible for that to happen, but only:

  1. After Snyder’s Netflix contract concludes.

  2. If James Gunn’s DCU plans work out.

Some people – especially the hardcore Pro-Snyder throwing out the “sell Justice League to Netflix” hashtags – forget that Snyder and Gunn are not only friends, but have collaborated before: Gunn provided the script for Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead movie.

Though there are other things to consider – if the cast involved will be able to or want to do it by then, and like @MatthewHecht said, cost would be an issue. I suppose it could be easier to do it in animation – it should be noted that Snyder has directed an animated movie before:

(Yes, that is really a Zack Snyder flick.)

Couldn’t agree more. I love this is for charity, but I’ll be off the internet on those days so I don’t have to see either side rant and rave online.

But I though that was the whole point of the internet now, lol.

As a wise man once said: “The Internet is a communication tool used the world over where people can come together to ■■■■■ about movies and share pornography with one another.”
