I know Identity Crisis is widely disliked (for very fair reasons), but this panel of Ralph holding Sue’s corpse will forever be one of the most tragic pieces of art I’ve ever seen while reading a comic. I think about it in detail at least once a year.

This is even sadder once you realize Bruce was lying to her. Steph’s whole robin situation was f**ed up.
The death of Morpheus/Dream in Sandman. It was excellently foreshadowed and executed.
I choose to believe that Bruce was telling the truth, at least in that moment.
