Poll: Which DC Couple Needs More Love?

The joker and Batman

Out of the ones listed on the poll, Mister Miracle and Big Barda easy.
However, outside of the poll I would have to say Lex Luthor and the sound of his own voice. That’s not a negative comment towards the character either. He’s actually my second favorite comic villain of all time, just barely under the Joker. (As cliche as it is, those two really are the greatest villains in comics, it’s not a fanboy thing because Batman is number six on my list of favorite superheroes, they’re just both such well crafted characters.)
That being said, the guy really is in love with the sound of his own voice. He has a dangerous combination of character traits that make him one of the all time greatest villains. He has a massive ego, (which I would classify as a god complex,) and something even more dangerous, the intelligence to back up his massive ego. That, combined with his ambition makes him truly dangerous and all the more fun to read. His love affair with himself is one of the most entertaining aspects of his character, and boy is that one unbreakable relationship.

@abfgmsw That actually sounds like the basis a pretty good story and one I might read, except personally I would make a bit of a change to it in order to make it a bit deeper overall. The idea of Rorschach having a love interest is appealing because it could add more depth to him. However, I don’t think he should be with someone who can just put up with him. Personally, I would have it to where Rorschach ends up with someone who challenges him and helps him to open up a bit and grow, but not so much that it changes the core of the character. I would also put him with someone that he could help grow as well so that their relationship would end up strengthening them both as a couple and as individuals. Personally, I think a character more rough around the edges than Black Canary would work better. I say make it a character that lives more in a moral grey area. Personally, I think the Huntress would be a good fit. She has trouble getting along with people sometimes due to her harsh methods and firey temper, but she has a tender side to, which Rorschach lacks. She would be the perfect person to loosen him up a bit by taking him out of his comfort zone and not be initially off put by his personality, seeing the man behind the mask and bringing him out bit by bit. He could also help her by expanding her views and opening her up to a dark world she knew existed but never knew ran so deep. He could also help her act a bit less impulsively and show her how to find just the right people to hurt in order to find out what she needs to know and help her detach herself from a case emotionally to get a better perspective on the big picture instead of taking out a few pieces and hoping it adds up rather than working her way to the top with fewer stops along the way. They could both be good for each other and really grow as both a team and a couple.
That’s my personal opinion anyway because I love to see characters as deeply embedded in their work as Rorschach open up a bit and realize there’s more to live that just solving a case, while Hellena realizes there’s more to solving a case than just taking out pawn and unravelling plots she already got herself in the middle of.

Batman and Wonder woman is my favorite DC couple

Sorry for the amount of posts by the way, I just have one more comment regarding @purpleguy23.54711’s idea for a Mr. Freeze movie. I think it’s a pretty great idea, but I’m not sure about having it all set in the past detailing his origin. Instead, it should be a film noir mystery thriller starting in present day depicting his first outing as Mr. Freeze with his true motives a mystery at first, one that’s slowly pieced together over the course of the movie through sporadic flashbacks of his old life, showing him as a kind, loving scientist at first, with Nora still alive, but gradually as the movie goes on, we see what happened to Nora and the tragic accident that created Mr. Freeze, with the flashbacks narrated by Mr. Freeze during his first confrontation with the Batman. It would start by him seemingly attacking a wealthy Wayne Tech employee with the assumed motive of robbery or ransom, rather than revenge. The sequence would begin to play out as the story progresses to the point where he’s facing off against Batman. However, unlike any foe he faced before, Freeze didn’t actually seem like a bad guy and was very civil with Batman. Before the conflict can escalate, Freeze tells Batman that he has no interest in fighting him, in fact he has very little interest in anything at all, explaining to him that the suit wasn’t meant as weapon, but a life support system. He tells Batman that he only wants one thing from him. Not his death, not his identity, nor his humiliation as most of his foes want. Instead, as he sits down in a chair in the Wayne Tech boardroom, he asks Batman for a simple request, which is to merely listen to his story, then he can do as pleases, whether it by arrest or murder he cares very little about his own outcome. He also asks him that, at the end of his story, if Batman truly cares for his fellow man as he claims, if he would would do him the honor of granting him one request. Batman, showing a side to his personality rarely seen these days, agrees and sits down with Mr. Freeze in stead of turning him in as he would most criminals. That’s when it’s revealed that his confrontation with Batman actually started at the beginning of the movie and his flashbacks took place during his conversation with Batman, rather than in his head prior to their first meeting, shown by the fact that Freeze picks up where the audience left off and he was actually telling the whole thing to Batman and his emergence as Mr. Freeze and his break in to the Wayne Tech board room was actually the true flashback, as the whole time he was actually talking to Batman and we, the audience, get to see how he ended up there, but not why. Turns out that his break in for the purpose of revenge was actually detailed in the story as opposed to actually happening in real time, as the audience is lead to believe. That’s why all of the pieces of his backstory coincided with what he was shown doing, explaining to Batman his reasoning for those actions where we saw them already occur through his flashbacks and previously believed to be his inner monologue describing his back story. By the time it was revealed that the whole thing was actually part of story Mr. Freeze was telling to Batman, Batman asks him why he wanted revenge and what his motives were, to which he bluntly, “Revenge Mr. Wayne, that is my reason. It may not be the best course of action, but it’s the only thing I have left, the only purpose in my life. For I have already lost the only thing that gave my life meaning, making as cold on the inside as the monster you see before you today. I thought revenge would bring me closure, but I will always be dead inside. For where once there beat a heart such as yours, I am no longer so lucky. I now have only a heart of ice that beats not rich, warm blood, but cold and empty nothingness, resulting in the monsteros genetic freak you see before you today. Forever alone, forever uncaring. My cold dead heart is the scar I carry to remind me that I will forever be alone, doomed to live out the remainder of my days in this body that is all too fitting for one such as my self, struck down by tragedy and loss. There is no other options. I thought revenge would bring me closure, but I only feel even more empty than before. Nothing I do can change the past, and due to my past the present and future no longer matter to me. The only thing that mattered was her, and she was taken from me. The day I lost her, Victor Fries perished and Mr. Freeze was born in his place. I lost everything Mr. Wayne, everything that ever happened to me. In truth, I envy you for you a much braver man than I. You experienced similar loss at a young age and used it to make you strong, where it simply made me into a monster with a heart of ice. Whatever you do to me, I don’t care, nothing matters to me anymore.”
(Mr. Freeze had figured out Batman’s identity through deductive reasoning and the fact that he had entered the locked board room where Mr. Freeze was sitting alone with the frozen body of a Wayne Tech CEO by using a key instead of kicking down the door, trying to be careful when approaching Freeze, who knew he was there the moment he stepped in and began talking to him without making eye contact with his back turned, looking out the window of the boardroom at world that now seemed so foreign to him. As soon as he realized Freeze meant him no harm, he removed the cowl and acknowledges his correct assessment, but also to make eye contact with him and make their conversation feel more personal.)
It was after his speech that he asked Mr. Freeze exactly what happened, then he continues the story starting at the point where he began working at Wayne Tech R&D and first told him of Nora’s fate and the origin of his condition, which is right before where the flashback the audience had been watching ended as they reveal that he was actually talking to Batman the whole time. After Freeze finished telling Batman the story, he was left with mixed feelings, leading to an ethical conundrum for the Dark Knight, knowing he had to take Freeze in for breaking the law, but the victory felt hollow as he truly sympathized with Mr. Freeze. It was the first time he really questioned whether or not he was truly doing the right thing, as Freeze was similar to him and he couldn’t honestly say he wouldn’t do the same in his position. After the story he was left with not only guilt because he had to arrest a good, broken man who just wants his life back, but also because he felt responsible for his accident, even though he was off training at the time. He also felt nauseating disgust at what his CEO did to Freeze and Nora in his absence. He was truly furious, but not at a supervillain this time, at a much more human villain motivated by greed, which not only disgusted him from an ethical standpoint, but also disgraced his parents name and the company they built.
After his conversation with Freeze, he was emotionally moved and shattered. He smiled a warm, understanding smiled and told Mr. Freeze that unfortunately he had no choice but to bring him to jail because he did break the law, but gave him his word that he wouldn’t be the only one, as he had ample evidence to look up the man who caused him such pain in the first place and promised to see to it that he was punished by the full extent of the law, because he doesn’t tolerate people like that, driven solely by greed and would gladly trade a life for profit. Mr. Freeze thanked him for his kindness and understanding, instead of running away because of what he became or assuming he was a threat based solely on his appearance. Then, before getting up to be escorted to prison, he asked Batman if he was still willing to fulfill his last request. When Bruce asked what it was, he told him that he was keeping Nora on ice in a cryogenic stasis using a machine the built himself with no funding and told Batman that she didn’t have long left do to the quality of the cryogenic chamber. He asked if he could watch over her, make sure she stays safe, and do whatever he can to find a cure. Then he started to walk away and Batman grabbed him by the shoulder and turned him around, looking him directly in the eye, then he swore to Mr. Freeze that he will do everything in his power to cure both him and Nora. Mr. Freeze thanks Batman for his kindness, but tells him all of that won’t be necessary. All he wants is for Nora to be happy and alive, telling Batman, “It’s far too late for me Mr. Wayne. Even if you do cure me, I am no longer the man that my Nora fell in love with. My only wish is that she is happy, regardless of what it may cost me. My fate was sealed long ago, but Nora still has a chance. Please, give it to her. She deserves to have the happiness that I lost long ago. Knowing she is safe and happy will bring me piece of mind, and that’s all I want for myself, to no longer carry the burden if having failed my Nora.” Then, he continues out the door to silently hand himself over to the police, then the screen fades to black and the movie ends.
