I started to read “the terrifics” and remembered that plastic man has been stuck as an egg for a while including in dark nights metal. Why was he an egg? And in what issue did he turn into an egg?

I remember seeing the egg first in miller’s DKII. A nice ha ha, silly putty gag. Not sure if it started there, tho.

Metal #5. He compressed into the Egg basically b/c being in tune with all the dark Metal ( & people’s minds) during the event was driving him crazy. So he did it as a way to block out all those horrific thoughts he was in tune with.

I had the same questions while reading Dark Knights: Metal, @KoolKris0426! Thank you for the extra details, @dago-mage! Plastic Man is a fairly new character to me, and although the DCU Encyclopedia does a great job covering his origins, there is no mention of his appearance in the Dark Knights: Metal series.
