Obscurity of DC Presents: Ultra-bscure Book Club, Week 67 (March 31-April 6) --- TRILLIUM Pt 2!

Welcome, @ObscurityofDCClub and other members of the DC Community! Welcome to Week 67 of Obscurity of DC’s Ultr-Obscure Book Club! This week will be the conclusion of a 2-week focus on…

Number of Issues: 4 (Please only read issues 5-8)

Synopsis from dcuniverseinfinite.com: It’s the year 3797, and botanist Nika Temsmith is researching a strange species on a remote science station near the outermost rim of colonized space. It’s the year 1921, and renowned English explorer William Pike leads an expedition into the dense jungles of Peru in search of the fabled ‘Lost Temple of the Incas,’ an elusive sanctuary said to have strange healing properties. Can it be that these two disparate souls, separated by thousands of years and hundreds of millions of miles, will somehow fall in love?

Now that that’s over with, here are some discussion questions:

  1. Following the events of issue 4, how does the story’s apparent new status quo change the characters of Nikita and Williams?
  2. After Nikita switches timelines with William in issue 5, what sets this new Earth different from the one shown in the first half of the series?
  3. Similar question to part 1 on our discussion on Trillium. Do you enjoy the relationship between Nikita and Williams in this part of this series? How is it different from the first half? Explain.
  4. In folklore, the trillium plant is often symbolized as the renewal of life itself. In what way does the overall Trillium series reflect this meaning?
  5. Would you consider the Trillium series as a love story or not? Explain.

Do you have an interest in exploring the unknown? Do you like discussing comics? Do you like pineapple on pizza? If so, The Obscurity of DC Club is the club for you! Join HERE if you’re interested!
