DOG MOON!!!
AGE SUGGESTION: 17+

Number of Issues: 1

Synopsis from dcuniverseinfinite.com: Dog Moon is a horror story, a love story and a lyrical epic all in one-the dark, disturbing account of a truck driver who transports the “just dead” to the place awaiting them, and of the strange events that followed the day he fell in love with a dead woman named Tess.

Now that that’s over with, here are some discussion questions:

  1. The truck driver refers to the moon as the “Dog Moon” throughout the story. Why does he call it that in the story, and what’s the significance it has to the supernatural setting?
  2. Dog Moon is largely told through narration, avoiding dialogue of other characters. However towards the end of chapter five, Tess directly speaks to the driver. What is the importance in telling Dog Moon entirely through narration and why is Tess the exception?
  3. In the ending of Dog Moon, the truck driver describes a dream he has of Tess, while we are shown his skull alongside the other dead in the story. Given the intentional dreamlike quality of the story, what do you infer about the the ending of Dog Moon and how does it fit with the overall theme of the story?
