Description from dc.fandom.com: Respawn was created with the genetic material of Deathstroke and Talia al Ghul. After escaping torture and captivity at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul, he starts wearing a similar costume to Deathstroke and competed in the Lazarus tournament.
Now that that’s over with, here are some discussion questions:
- In issue 6, Flatline says that Respawn’s chain/knife thing is a “crutch.” Do you agree or disagree with her? Explain.
- In issue 6, we see Respawn attack people outside of the allotted battle. Why do you think he’s willing to break such fundamental rules? What does he gain from it?
- In issue 7, we see Respawn try to kill someone while their back is turned, something very uncommon due to its lack of honor. Do you think Respawn’s disregard for morals and fairness makes him stronger or weaker? Explain.
- In issue 8, we see Respawn clapping for Robin, displaying camaraderie towards the one he swore to hate. What do you think made Respawn change his mind and choose to respect Robin, instead of destroying him? Explain.
- In issue 11, Damian calls Respawn one of his “friends.” To be blunt, respect and friendship are two different things. How do you think Respawn went from being enemies with Robin to being friends with him? Explain.
