Description from… me, @Jurisdiction: Baphomet, real name unknown, is a new vigilante in Gotham City. When Batman takes him under his wing, a new dynamic duo becomes known through the streets of Gotham: Batman and Baphomet. Batomet… I’m funny, laugh. LAUGH!!!
Now that that’s over with, here are some discussion questions:
- Why do you think the character chose “Baphomet” as his codename?
- Why do you think Baphomet took his mask off in front of Batman so early in their partnership?
- We know a lot about Baphomet– his face, his backstory, his family. However, one of the most basic and important things about Baphomet (his real name) is unknown. Why do you think Kevin Smith (the writer) decided to keep this core detail a secret, especially after giving the readers a ton of insight into Baphomet’s life?
- At the end of the series, we see Baphomet identifying himself as Onomatopoeia before slitting Silver St. Cloud’s throat. What are your thoughts on this shocking revelation? Did you see it coming, or were you surprised? Explain.
