Description taken from dc.fandom.com: Fate is Jared Stevens, an adventurer and superhero with occult powers. He inherited the equipment of Doctor Fate from Kent Nelson and Inza Cramer. This includes the Amulet of Anubis, the Cloak of Destiny, and the Helmet of Fate, all of which he repurposed into a new sleeker costume.
With that out of the way, here are some discussion questions:
- Do you think Jared’s role as fate was predetermined? If so, why do you think it was Jared’s fate to become… Fate, especially considering his criminal history? If not, why do you think Kent and Inza chose Jared to become Fate?
- To put in blatantly, Jared has very, very few similarities to Dr. Fate, despite his connection to Nabu. What traits, behaviors, and/or moments display a connection between Jared, Kent, and Inza? Explain.
- Why do you think Nabu became a sword for Jared? Why not a different object?
