Obscurity of DC Presents: Month of Obscurity, Month 17 (August) --- MOTHER PANIC!

Heya @ObscurityofDCClub and other members of the DC Community! Welcome to the seventeenth MONTH OF OBSCURITY! For the month of August, we will be focusing on…

MOTHER PANIC!!!
Age Suggestion: 17+

Number of Issues: 18

Description taken from dc.com: Meet Violet Paige, a celebutante with a bad attitude and a temper to match, who no one suspects of having anything lying beneath the surface of her outrageous exploits. But Violet isn’t just another bored heiress in the upper echelons of Gotham City’s elite. Motivated by her traumatic youth, Violet seeks to exact vengeance on her privileged peers as the terrifying new vigilante known only as Mother Panic.

With that out of the way, here are some discussion questions:

  1. Do you think Violet’s aggressiveness throughout the first few issues was justified? Why or why not?
  2. Violet has a very strong relationship with her mother. What impact do you think Rebecca (the mother) has on Violet? What impact does Violet have on Rebecca?
  3. At the end of the first issue, Dominic says that there are only “two flavors of costumes in this city [Gotham]. Psychos who hurt and psychos who help.” Do you think Mother Panic is more focused on hurting the villains, or is she more focused on helping the civilians? Explain.
  4. How do you think the setting of Gotham affects Violet?
  5. With the introduction of Mother Panic came new villains for Violet to fight. Which of these villains did you find to be the most compelling? Who was the biggest enemy to Mother Panic? Explain.

Do you have an interest in exploring the unknown? Do you like discussing comics? Do you like pineapple on pizza? If so, Obscurity of DC is the club for you! Join HERE if you’re interested!
