It’s interesting to see The Batman get respect over the last few years.
When it debuted, most people just couldn’t stop unfavorably comparing it to BTAS/TNBA.
Penguin’s a Jerry Maguire fan

There are always vacancies in Gotham security jobs, but the turnaround is high.
I have to admit that back in 1992 I was disappointed with a Penguin design for Batman the animated series, I was hoping he would look like the original Penguin and not Danny Devito’s Penguin. But I learn to like it.

It was very clear that BTAS was greenlit on the strength of Batman Returns’ box office, hence the early designs of Selina and Oswald. But it quickly became its own thing.

As for The Batman Penguin, I just love it, the looks, acting, and appear in more episodes and this movie makes me one happy Penguin fan!
