To preface ive seen every dcu movie in the theatre since '89 Batman, but when shazam originally came out i had no interest in the source material. I regret skipping it! Great movie! The effects and action were top notch! I may even read a couple runs! Any suggestions?

The acquired taste book club is currently reading the first issues of The Power of Shazam if you want to join us.
If you want to go it alone (but why!?!?), I would suggest the crossover series Legends, and Shazam: The New Beginning.

Shazam did well at theaters but I expect the second to do. I have better as more people discover it. Love the DC/WB is putting out movies with such varied tones, approaches, etc

I really hope black Adam is the big bad in the second one
I would like that, too, but the Rock is supposed to have his own movie as Black Adam, so I’m not sure.

The New 52 Shazam is continued in the current series and I would highly recommend both.
