Favorite Obscure Non-Superhero Miniseries

DC has done some really great, at times thought-provoking non-“superhero” miniseries over the years. Many of them were published before Vertigo was established, though Vertigo has had some good series that came and went with little to no fanfare. I’m thinking series fewer than 12 issues.

Springing to my mind were:

Gerry Conway and José Luis García-López’s Cinder and Ashe.
Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso’s Jonny Double from 1998.
Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark’s Scene of the Crime from 1999.
