Favorite Comics Read During Year One

Since we are in the throes of DCU: Year One. What has been everyone’s favorite comics read this year on the app?

My favorites have been:

Cyborg (read as part of book club)
All-Star Superman (recommendation from @biff_pow on my recommendation thread)
Catwoman: When in Rome (random read)
And DC Comics Presents (which coupled with All-Star has made me start to like Superman a lot more)

So what are some of your favorites you got to read this year because of the original comic upload and 23,000+ comics library addition?

Batgirl: Year One
Manhunter (2004-)
Gotham Central
Nightwing Annual (1997-) #2
Batgirl New 52
The Long Halloween was fun. I remember liking Huntress: Year One. I’m currently enjoying the George Pérez run of Wonder Woman. I’m sure I’m missing a lot, I’ve read so many

I’ve read a lot of excellent comics this year.

Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing takes the number 1 spot for me.

These are pretty much just in the order I thought of them, but also kinda vaguely organized by author-ish except for some of them (and aside from a few Rebirth titles, I hadn’t actually read that many comics before DCU, so you’ve basically asked me what my favorite comics are):

Crisis on Infinite Earths
Batman: The Long Halloween
Birds of Prey (Simone’s run is the best, but as far as I’m concerned, there’s not a single bad issue in the first two volumes)
Chuck Dixon’s Nightwing
Chuck Dixon’s Detective Comics
Chuck Dixon’s Robin
George Perez’s Wonder Woman
Mark Waid’s Flash
Mark Waid’s JLA
Kingdom Come
Denny O’Neil’s Question
Denny O’Neil’s Azrael
Batman: Shaman
Batman: Venom
The pieces of Denny O’Neil’s original ‘70s Detective comics run I’ve read
Batman: Knightfall (Especially the parts written by - guess who - Denny O’Neil (and also Chuck Dixon))
Cary Bates’ and Greg Weisman’s Captain Atom
Englehart/Rogers ‘Tec (Thank you, Vroom, for reminding me of this one)
Giffen’s and DeMatteis’ JL/JLI/JLA (and their initial run of JLE for that matter)
Batgirl (2000 series)
Geoff Johns’ Green Lantern
Peter Tomasi’s Green Lantern Corps
52
Peter David’s Young Justice
John Byrne’s Man of Steel miniseries
Paul Dini’s Detective Comics
Marv Wolfman’s Batman
John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad
The Death of Superman
Devin Grayson’s Titans

Pant Pant Pant

I think that ought to do it.

So much good stuff here! Man, my reading list is so long, but I’ll never have enough comics to put on there, so keep 'em coming, folks!

I really want this app to not only mark what I’ve read but count them. I think I’m well over 1,000. That is one heck of a bargain. At the top, in no order
Flintstones - flipping awesome
Manhunter- Rucka writes Kate Spencer
Doom Patrol - Young Animal version is A+
Superman book club - it’s Superman, even the dated, weird whatever are great
Mr. Miracle - had to post Learning to Love King Kirby because of it
Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olson - Kirby era just fantastically wacky
Injustice, try to read just one, can’t do it
So,so many more

I read 52 and Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol for the first time on here. They were great.

W/O thinking & looking at my notebook. I know for sure Godhead, Rotworld, Madame Xanadu, Camelot 3,000, all fit that list. Forever Evil Blight, on Suicide Squad side The Janus Directive. Also, I was shocked at how good the Katana & Deadshot & El Diablo & Boomerang most wanted mini- series were for ones I’ve never heard of. There’s tons more but those were ones that were right off the top of my head when I saw this post. Oh, sorry, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the Doom Patrol especially Grant Morrison’s run but really all of em from silver age on.

Just started Wildcats loving it so far. Started with ‘92, just finished version 3.0 and am about to start nemesis. B4 I attempt to figure out order for 2008 worlds end crossover, which is had to find an order for, cuz every site thinks I’m asking about the other worlds end dc crossover. Even if I put Wildstorm in front of it. Before I get there I’m gonna read all the others. Gen 13, Stormwatch, The Authority. Since these are all new areas for me it’s tough to find an order but I’m gonna do it, then read the JLA/ Wildcats, JLA/ Planetary & the other Wildstorm related one that’s slipping my mind at the moment.

Planetary, Gotham city central, Kingdom Come. So many more,. Also really enjoyed rereading Wally West flash stories I haven’t read since I was a kid. Finally got to read all the Dark Knight Returns and sequels. Read flashpoint a few times. So many to choose from it’s been a fun damn year for reading

Long Halloween
Arkham Knight prequel comics.
Deathstroke Rebirth

I’ve like all I read but these are my favorites.

Batgirl: Year One was surprisingly great. I also loved the first half of Doom Patrol (2018), the second half for me isn’t working.

Without looking, I really liked Hitman. Also, Wildstorm: Michael Cray and Mark Russell’s Prez. That’s the stuff I read on here, anyway. I also checked out some Vertigo stuff I thought was pretty great recently like Unfollow, Lucifer, and Invisibles.
