@jcolag,

The AC/Charlton deal was a limited license, according to the Wikipedia entry for Sentinels of Justice:

AC Comics editor and head writer Bill Black had been making plans for a superhero team to be named the Sentinels of Justice when he was contacted by Charlton Comics with a request that AC provide material for the Charlton Bullseye comic book. The team concept was quickly revised, with a roster of Charlton characters. Bullseye was cancelled before the story could be published, but AC was granted a limited license to publish the material already prepared for Charlton.

If DC does have the reprint rights, I would like to see that AC special combined with The L.A.W. miniseries from the late '90s into one trade volume.

You can read a review of the AC issue at the link below.

Can we please get some late 80s green lantern? The 90s series begins with like issue 47 or something. Please digitize the whole run.

Lots of those are public domain. You can find them free on a few websites. Here is one example.

Very true, but copyrights are messy in situations like that. Unless Charlton was specifically given the copyright of the resulting books in the contract (DC has been diligent with those clauses since the original Superman comic strip fiasco, but I don’t remember if I ever looked at the copyrights for any AC material), AC would still control the rights to the content, but not be allowed to use them without permission from DC. I’m assuming that DC took on Charlton’s contracts, here, but it’s also possible that it didn’t come up, which would make it even messier.

I’d love to see some of the silver age Legion of Super-Heroes holes filled in:

Adventure Comics (1935-) #282, #290, #293, #301-303, #305, #307-309, #311, #313-315, #317-339, #342-345, #350-351, #355, #358-359, #361-367, #371-373, #375-380

Action Comics (1938-) #276, #287, #289, #378-392

Superboy (1949-) #86, #89, #98, #117, #124-125, #147, #172-173, #176, #183-184, #188, #190-191, #193, #197-199, #201-221

It is fully available digitally. It’s just under Vertigo.

That would be great! Where can I find this Vertigo section?

They aren’t allowed to add Vertigo comics here. You can find them at comixology. Sandman Mystery Theatre (1993-1999) Digital Comics - Comics by comiXology
