There’s a difference between Clark having those Apple Pie values (having spent a summer in Chicago once, where almost all the residents are from another part of the midwest), I’m not sure I would call them ‘midwestern,’ but they are certainly the plain spoken, down to Earth type, and nerdom - and I say this as someone who more nerd than geek.
And, I mean, Bruce Wayne is just a filthy one-percenter who can’t even bring himself to eat a burger with his very own hands! So, of course, he can’t bring himself to smile, hug others, and can’t appreciate the inherent goodness and value in a milkshake.
