Is that colored pencils? Some of it looks like crayon?
I used to use crayons when I wanted some interesting colors (plus starving college student budgets!) and then use an eXacto knife and razor blade to take the wax off, and it looked like an aged or weathered water color/colored pencil combination. I haven’t thought about that since my art school days!

I think its marker the kind thats really hard to draw with I used to use them all the time when I was younger

It’s a good recreation of Arthur and Lois, yes …

You don’t really have to search very hard for reference pictures of a shirtless Clark Kent circa Smallville era.
