Child-friendly comics?

@beardofzeus

It was our pleasure.

Imagine helping a child who will love to read and loves DC comics.

Cant have anything better than that.

Also, if she lives WW the George Perez run on WW in the 80’s is really good. His art is amazing.

Some of the early Golden Age WW comics are great, especially the Etta Candy issues. Lots of fun wordplay. So it might be fun, depending on her current language skill level.

I think a lot of people don’t fully realize how awesome it is that we have a successful live action wonder woman to not only influence so many new girls (and boys!) to the world of comics, but also as a great role model! We truly are living in the best time to be a DC fan.

Also, I know it’s not a comic but you could watch the 70’s wonder woman show with her

Agreed! The 2017 Wonder Woman Movie was beautiful and empowering and Gal Gadot so embodies Diana I get a swell of joy and pride and all the other feels when I see her now. Your daughter is still too young to watch a war movie but I’m sure she’ll love it once she’s older. I bawled my eyes out during the glorious No Man’s Land scene. They couldn’t have done that any better!

According to Wikipedia, the first digital issues of DCSHG came out in October 2016 (Past Times at Super Hero High): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Super_Hero_Girls

So technically they should be here, right?

@Mae

Its weird but the version of DC Super Heroes Girls that you are talking about is not emphasized any more when I Google those words even though it sold many many action figures to young girls.

Mostly i just see the new version. The six main characters have different personalities. Kara is not sweet. Bumblebee is very shy.
Diana is Bronze with an accent. Barbara talks very fast.

In the first version only Catwoman is semi evil and its more “pretty. Mine”

Now Harley and Star Sapphire are evil. Before they were not. The boys are de emphasized. No Cyborg Starfire Beast Boy.
No High School for Supers.

Now regular high school where they have secret identities.

In short they did a New 52 to the line with almost a 1984 denial of prior existence.

And I dont see a new line of action dolls. I could see every girl wanting the old Bumblebee, especially young black girls. The new Bumblebee not at all in her shapeless sweater three times her size.

The old line was more open in story allowing Raven to be homeschooled. They went to space. Instructors taught them how to become heroes. Now they are all alone with no mentors or teachers.

I cant see both versions existing. Unless the new version flops i cant see the old version in our library.

Just looked at DC kids site.

No mention of old version

Just new version. Hawkgirl Starfire Miss Martian we hardly knew yee.

The new version will have a Graphic Novel from DC Zoom in October.

Probably wont be here because

Original graphic novel
DC Zoom not DC Comics.

All the “old” episodes are still on the DCSHG’s YouTube channel so it’s not like they’re going away. I think I prefer the original version, we’ll see. But the comics should be here if they were originally released as issues over a year ago. Other digital-first series are on here.
