Question: Does Batman getting a new partner after Jason dies( before he returns) seem out of character?
He seems like the type to punish himself so would he really get another young partner after Jason?

The books of the time address it quite well. Batman knows as well as Dick and Tim do that he’s being self-destructive and reckless on his own, and even then the idea of taking Tim on does scare him. It was something like a year before Tim was allowed to suit up after his introduction, and he was limited to training and relatively safe assignments outside of emergencies for quite a while afterwards.

Because I’m reading that Tim run now, what struck me as more OOC was him giving Tim’s identity away to Steph. Felt like there was just a demand for drama that needed to be filled.
