A comic that broke my little heart…
Loved the 70s 80s version BL
Comics that made a small reader’s heart leap finding them in drug stores and superettes. And maybe Comic City.
I’m leaping with you. I had most of those back in the day.
There were all on the shelf surprises-- the kind of joy I don’t think you can even get today. (I had to get somebody to take me to Comics City to get JLA 135 and 1 136)
Which ones didn’t you find to warm your reader’s heart?
I’m gonna add this one
And say this one was more a kind of , I donno, facination–

Third time was most certainly the charm.
If we only knew what, Mal? That were going to break up eventually? We probably did– But none of us would admit it! But that doesn’t mean the years we’ve spent together were wasted! We grew up together–helped each other over the rough spots-- But now it’s time to fly solo… So each of us can continue growing!

Funny thing about 1977, DC put out “Untold origins” for JLA, JSA and Teen Titans.
Yea, well, even that young, I knew the Titans comics were flawed, but they were still a lot of fun. The book basically got paved over to make more paper for the DC Explosion.
This was my first exposure to the Teen Titans. I missed the first few issues.
Fun fact-- they messed up the distribution on issues 3-5-- sales reports were spotty. They managed to get a decent read on 1 and 4, 2nd issues are often under ordered as much as 1st issues are over ordered, so they first time DC knew the had a hit was when they got reports and demographics back on issue 6.
My favorite DC/Marvel crossover is the Xmen/Teen Titans one.
Yea. Two bad Shooter had to be annoying and kill the plans for a second one.
This is remains the first issue of Teen Titans I owned…
It’s a great cover, but a bad publishing decision.
