Agreed.
@SkylerSneathen Jae Lee has a very distinct style, the interiors in the first arc of the New 52’s Batman/Superman run are amongst my favorite work - largely because they are great but also because they work particularly well with that particular Crossed World arc.
EDITED to add Lee’s collection (and first issue) cover for that Cross World arc I referenced from the New 52.
Agreed! After he left, I stopped. And Greg Pak is great, but I just wasn’t willing to give it a chance unfortunately.
Here’s a collection of variants or covers by Steve Rude - I’m glad he continues to work regularly with DC
Worlds Finest (1990) on the app here: World's Finest (1990)
^ I strongly urge folks to read this if they never have, it’s only three issues and I thought the plot would have made a better source than what we got for BvS.
Action Comics Annual (2022)
Superman Space Age (2022)
Woman of Tomorrow (2022)
@SkylerSneathen I am glad they used Hiro in the New 52, but that wasn’t as strong nor the third arc, which I believe he also wrote, but they were fine. I did like the work he did in Action Comics in the New 52, but I think he’s mostly been working for Marble since then.
@CaptainYesterday I’m glad they remastered that issue for the Superman - A Celebration of 75 Years HC, and it’s weird that it’s not on the app. I don’t think DC has released it as a stand along on CMX, perhaps?
Is that Neal Adams?
Michael William Kaluta 1972
Good eye, according to the GCD, it is.
And speaking of the great late Mr. Adams, if anyone has not read his fabulous The Coming of the Supermen limited series, they really, really should.
It’s on the app here: Superman: The Coming of the Supermen #1
I miss the days when comics covers used to yell at you.
Win Mortimer 1952
this came out a year before the other guy with a “license to kill” was created
He kinda’ reminds me of The Monk.
