The bronze age marvel character readthru has taken me down the most dirt/gravel road of all time. Because JACK OF HEARTS wasn’t obscure enough, here’s the SCARECROW. No, not that Scarecrow runnin thru the BatBooks, and no, not that classic baddie(?) that first showed up vexing IRON MAN. The one that pops out of a painting and fights demons. From the last issue of DEAD OF NIGHT to an issue of MARVEL PREMIER to MARVEL 2IN1 to a good decade later, a few issues of Rascally Roy’s 90s DR STRANGE. It’s all pretty w.t.f. so far, can’t wait to see how ROY THOMAS over-explains this mess. On the DC side, I finally read the 3 latest post-metal issues of WONDER WOMAN and really dug them. Not so much the back-ups, however. 14 year old Diana getting into shenanigans just isnt for me. And I’ve been diggin old silver age SUPERMAN books because they are just so, so, so far out there.
Welp, spoilers- the SCARECROW? changed his name to STRAWMAN and apparently started up SHUDDER TV way back in '92. Then he got all burned up by a FEAR LORD(?)…and that’s issue one of a 3 issue arc.

Checked out the new ROBIN series? So far, so good, haHAha

Had a good month of reading. I’m at 2,969 so I am looking to make 3,000+ for the year. Pretty good for the money I pay for DCUI and MU.
Read the Dark Nights Death Metal. Loved Wonder Woman with a chainsaw! Good story overall.
War of the Bounty Hunters was kind of fun. I’ve enjoyed the Star Wars Expanded Universe over the years, even if Disney tried to erase it all.

You should always go with your gut, my friend
And pie graphs are optional, but totally cool. Lookin forward to the big year-end breakdown.
I have only read 100 comics in November. I am sort of in a slump and can’t sit down to read a comic. I am sure that will pass as it always does. On the other hand, I have been playing some sweet video games and highly recommend Tales of Arise and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
Anyway, here are books I have read and will do a huge end-of-year breakdown for December!
November highlights were Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Doctor Who, and Soulfire. I didn’t read enough DC comics to have highlights.

Last year I had about 850 books read. This year I’m at 460 some. The 3 months looking for a place to live really held me back!
November was pretty slow, only 106 issues for the month. I didn’t get anything from Comixology at all, which is a shame (I’m really looking forward to getting back into those new Snyder books) but I had a lot more issues in the single category than usual as I slowly started to catch up. The current Flash continues to be great, maybe not as fun as superspeed Quantum Leap, but then again, what is. Superman: Son of Kal-El is also really good. Not for everyone, I’m sure, but I like the angle Taylor and co are taking the book; feels a bit reminiscent of the very early Siegel and Shuster books, which I also read a bit of this month. I’ve also been pretty surprised by Bendis’ Justice League. I feel like I shouldn’t like it, but it’s pretty fun. I am, however, very confused by the Flash. Barry is never on any of the covers and doesn’t seem to be on the official roster, but he’s, like, always there. Yet when the League showed up in Son of Kal-El, Wally was the Flash that was present. That being said, given that Justice League directly ties into Bendis’ Checkmate, which stars a Damian Wayne who has very much not run away from the Batfamily, I’m assuming most of the book takes place a little while ago, like right after Death Metal. (I don’t know why I bother to look for logic in a comic book timeline).
I started reading the Young Justice tie in comic as well, reading it along with rewatching the show, since there is a coherent timeline there. It’s very interesting to go through the show like this, because the two are very closely linked.
Over on Marvel Unlimited, I started Chip Zdarsky’s Daredevil. That was easily the best book I read this month, and it has some stiff competition. I’ll say no more, but I suggest everyone read it if you haven’t. And if you have, read it again.
Finally, there was Dan Slott’s GLA. Very good, but very dark. Like Slott’s She-Hulk mixed with Watchmen. I really enjoyed it, but definitely not for everyone.
Anyway, the graphs:
Month:
Year:
Daily breakdown:
Man, I’ve barely read anything this month and here everyone’s talking about “only” a hundred issues. I’ve gotta do more reading next year.
OK, so here’s a question: Why is Daredevil always good? Like, not always, I’m exaggerating with that, it’s weirdly so much more consistent than any similarly long-running title I can think of.
I mean, I haven’t read Zdarsky’s run yet since it was like just starting when I was getting semi-caught up on Daredevil, so maybe I’ll be that one guy who hates the thing everyone else thinks is genius again, but-
