As we celebrate DC Universe: Year One, I wanted to take a second and look back at all of the memories from the service and our phenomenal Community. There are so many moments that bring a joy to me, but I wanted to share some of my favorites with all of you!
One of those favorites has to be the actual launch of DC Universe. When I look back now, it’s quite clear how much we’ve grown and expanded, but hindsight is 20/20, as they say. Back in September of 2018, we had no idea how much would change over the course of the year, but we all had a vision for it. The fact that our vision of what DC Universe could be has become a reality (and is still growing and evolving) is a tremendous source of happiness and pride for me.
Another moment of delight for me is something that continues to this day - and will keep on continuing - our DC Fan Ambassadors! To see the delight in the Community from those who received this honor to the outpouring of support and congratulations from other members will always and forever bring a smile to my face.
Of course, I can’t forget to mention th e Watch Alongs! From our Original programs to “pop-up” matinees, the Watch Alongs are some of my fondest memories. I can still remember the first one I ever did – the series premiere of Doom Patrol. I love that we have a group of Watch Along regulars, or WALers as I call them, but every week I see new faces that quickly become regulars too!
While these moments are some of my happiest and proudest memories, the one thing that brings me the most pleasure and jubilance will permanently be the Community members themselves. The amount of support you show one another and the friendships that I have seen built is nothing short of amazing. Whether you’re a member that posts and discusses daily, a member who prefers to spectate and respond only on occasion, or a member that falls in between the two, you are all the source of my most cherished and prized memories. It is because of all of you that this Community is one of the most positive Communities I have ever been a part of and I look forward to even more conversations and memories with all of you in the years to come.
You are a treasure! You valiantly led us WALers through Doom, the Swamp, Constantine, and now Titans. I cherish the WALs! It’s so fun hanging out with the community to watch DCU content. Thanks for keeping the DCU community beautiful.
@Turok, I will admit that I got a little misty eyed when I read your sweet words. The amount of help you give, along with your writing, writing workshops, and the newest Super Hero Genre History threads are always amazing and so well-thought out.
aww well shucks PPB those were some sweet words there. Now I feel bad for pouring in all that bleach into your watering cans.
Just give them some SUPERTHRIVE they’ll be fine!
For real though you’re Awesome and one of the best ppl to have on a WaL. Also I hope Ajack relay my condolences yesterday.

Yes, AJ did pass that along to me and I was so immensely moved by you remembering and sending an email. So, thank you for being the amazing person you are!
I wish I had some wonderful words to express my gratitude towards you this year, but none would do it justice. Your words on many of my threads have kept me going forward. Your simple reminders of my being a positive force have allowed me to start to understand that about myself. Every single time I see your posts, I know you are bringing love and respect to your response. That is rare in a moderator of a forum. Your light as a moderator on these forums is beyond compare.
@PrincessAmethyst, I will be completely honest and say that I had to wait to respond to your comment until I could actually form coherent words without blubbering. To me, YOU are one of the biggest positive forces on this service and I find your words to be full of that same love, respect, and genuine kindness you speak of. I truly hope that your light never dims on this community or this world.
@iJest, the pleasure is all mine! You and so many of the community members bring a smile to my face on a daily basis. I look forward to seeing just how much we all grow into the beautiful green foliage that I love so much!
