Works you rather have a Green Lantern Ring with no charge or a Lantern? Both are pretty much useless but awesome without the other.

The ring. Even with no power, you could still wear it and it would be fashionable. A powerless lantern is useless and would just sit in the corner collecting dust.

Hmm. Would the lantern still work for members of the corps? Could this be your way of finally convincing Ryan Reynolds to drop by your pad?

Definitely the lantern, would like to tinker with it and see if I can charge anything else besides a ring.

With a lantern you just remove a piece a piece and make a ring. That is canon from 1940.
