I agree – I’ve been rereading these specials for the club and I’ve been enjoying them a lot so far. Hardly a stinker in here.
millernumber1:
I’d love to cover some things like Rucka’s New Gotham, or the leadup to Knightfall (or NML), or arcs of Legends of the Dark Knight like Shaman, Gothic, etc.
In terms of Legends of the Dark Knight, we have covered some of the ones you mentioned. In fact, it was some of our first!

Howdy y’all I’ve seen folks talking about getting a book club for Bat’s going and had discussed this one with some fellow community members yesterday. There are quite a few book clubs going on and I don’t want to overwhelm anyone so lets give this a 10 day run for these 5 books.

Hello fellow Gothamites and welcome to the latest edition of the Batman Book Club! @fansumtheory.16165 asked me to fill in for him for this one – something about having to isolate himself in a cave and purging himself of…something…I’m sure he’s fine.
Anyway, this week we’re going to continue (and possibly finish) our trek through the early days of the “Legends of the Dark Knight” title from the 90s with the very special storyline “Venom,” by Dennis O’Neil, Trevor Von Eeden, Russell Braun, and J…
And early on we also covered some of the lead up to and issues of Knightfall:
Greetings, Bat-Fans! I’m like an entire day late!
Yeah, some stuff came up yesterday and I forgot I had to get this put up, so, hope you enjoy my last-minute picks. I’m figuring that for my months on the club, I’ll alternate between themed oneshot selections like last time and a slow crawl through the Knightfall Saga, probably going on to some of the lesser-known crossovers if and when we get done with that.
Our selections for this week are:
Batman: Sword of Azrael #1-4
Batman: Vengeance of …
Greetings, Bat-Fans!
For my last week on the job before Jay_Kay takes over, we’ll be looking at the last few issues before the Knightfall story arc.
Our selections for this week are (attempting to stick them in a fairly coherent reading order; sorry if I fail to do so):
-OPTIONAL: Detective Comics #654-656 (Largely irrelevant, but if you’re feeling completionist, Bane and his henchmen cameo at the end of #656, so it’s technically part of the Knightfall lead-in)
-Batman #488-490
-Detective C…

Greetings, Bat-Fans! I’m back with another installment of World of Bats Book Club !
Where last we left off with the Knightfall Saga (waaaay back in Community 1.0, as seen here ), Bane had just let everybody out of Arkham like the jerk he is. This time, we’ll have a look at Batman’s struggle to get all these bad guys wrangled again!
(Note: This section of the story is not officially entitled “The Gauntlet…

Welcome everyone to the World of Bats, the Batman Book Club! This week we’re going to continue the trek through the famous 90s event Knightfall.
The Dark Knight has been through the ringer trying to stop all the villains that have escaped Arkham Asylum, but when he finally confronts the man who has orchestrated it all, will Batman have anything left in him to stop Bane?
Here are the six issues:
Knightfall: Broken Bat <a href="https://www.dcuniverse.com/comics/book/batman-1940…
I think discussions with spoilers should be fine – these are smaller stories without a lot of big twists. Maybe if there’s something one feels truly needs to be read from the story, you can be vague or put spoiler tags.
