[World of Bats] Detective Comics #969-974, Annual #1 "Fall of the Batmen"

Hello and Welcome to the World of Bats, the Batman Book Club!

This week we’ll be approaching the tail end of the acclaimed James Tynion IV’s run on Detective Comics with issues #969-974 and Annual #1, “Fall of the Batmen,” with art by Eddy Barrows, Joe Bennett, Miguel Mendonca, Jesus Merino, and Phil Briones.

Normally this is where I would put the links, but DCUI just happened to put this particular arc together in one storyline link!

Reading will go from 2022-05-28T05:00:00Z2022-06-03T05:00:00Z, but you can always come back later.

Looking forward to discussing these issues with you all! :batparrot:

Can’t, he got that Substack money now.

Wow, poor Tim and poor Clayface. I have never felt such sympathy for Clayface before. Definitely tugged at my heartstrings.

Haven’t read the Annual yet, but the rest of it is great. It seems like the who ensemble gets just enough time in the spotlight. Such a tragic ending for Clayface and major props to Tynion for doing such a great job humanizing him over the run so that we would care.

I have a question for the community: Was Batwoman right?

A good question - I don’t really know, honestly!
