Wonder Woman: Encyclopedia of Villains

Name: Eviless
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #28 (1948)
Creators: Joye Hummel and H.G Peter
Abilities: Mastery of Saturnian sciences. Psychic ability to avoid notice. Commands an army of Saturnite soldiers and supervillains.


Backstory: Native to the planet Saturn, Eviless was an evil figure who was a firm believer in Saturns policies of enlightened self interest. Only doing something if it aided yourself. Enslaving others to your own benefit.

Part of the group which had aided Mephisto Saturno and Saturnette in trying to conquer Earth and later go so far as attempt to destroy it, Eviless would convince Wonder Woman to grant her and those Saturnians who were not Mephisto and Saturnette, amnesty on Reform Island to avoid the punishment they would face should they be returned to their homeworld in failure.

Thus what would start as seemingly a life of reformation was but the start of her plan. For escaping the Venus Girdles which compelled the wearers to not bring harm upon another individual, Eviless would reveal her true plan!

For Eviless wished to use not only her own Saturnian soldiers, but to also free Wonder Womans greatest and most unrepentant villains to serve and aid her in conquering the Amazons, claiming the island as her own, and making a profit while doing so.

They would agree, and thus Eviless founded ‘Villainy Inc ©’ The first supervillain group of its kind! Contributing her own keen leadership, alongside her alien knowledge, resources, and platoon of Saturnian soldiers trained in the ways of espionage, Eviless was a force to be reckoned with.

Name: Saturna
First Appearance: Wonder Woman: Steve Trevor Special (2017)
Creators: Tim Seeley and Christian Duce
Abilities: Whip haver. Leads a militia of armored gun wielding minions. Flight. Necromancy.


Backstory: Leader of the ‘Crimson Men’ a doomsday militia consisting of cultists convinced that the world is doomed to perish in a great crisis signaled by red skies.

In a desperate effort to avoid this, Saturna and her Crimson men would continuously comb the Earth, committing any act no matter how heinous in order to acquire treasures and artifacts to ensure they would survive the crisis to come.

Saturna leading this group, would talk of dark elves and Valkyries, making comparisons as she used her own dark talents to further her dark cause. For Saturna was gifted in the necromantic arts. Capable of raising from the dead any who have perished to once more fight in her name as an undead horde.

Declaring survival above all, Saturna would do anything it took to remain alive.

Name: King Midas
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #39 (1949)
Creators: Robert Kanigher and H.G Peter
Abilities: Possesses a vast and diverse fortune. Scepter haver. Ability to disguise himself as wealth. Possesses noxious gas.


Backstory: The so called ‘Master Miser of All Time’ and ‘The Modern Midas’. King Midas was a criminal kingpin whose entire modus operandi was to procure unmatched valuables of all sorts. Gold, Uranium, precious jewels, money in vast quantities in different currencies. He wanted a fortune in every conceivable way.

Not that he had any grand ambition for using this wealth in any way. Instead, he sought these treasures out purely for the sake of hoarding that wealth so he can proclaim himself the wealthiest in all the land.

Styling himself after King Midas and dressing up as royalty, King Midas would come up with elaborate plots in an effort to procure wealth. From grand robberies, to having henchmen marry wealthy elderly women.

His signature however, is disguising himself as a giant gold coin to smuggle himself into vaults, so that he and his henchmen might pilfer whatever ill gotten gains they can carry.

**Name:**Nemesis
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #611 (2011)
Creators: J. Michael Straczynski, Phil Hester, Eduardo Pansica, Don Kramer
Abilities: Commands the spirits of those who died crying out for vengence. Shapeshifting. Can fill a target with the need for vengence. Possesses a sword which embodying her power, will consume those stabbed by it with vengence to the point that Nemesis can claim their body for herself.


Backstory: Goddess and anthropomorphic personification of vengeance and violent justice. Nemesis was a nemesis of Wonder Womans who embodied every cry for vengeance across the multiverse. Aware of every wrong committed and experiencing every time someone is driven by a need for vengeance even long after their demise.

The number of people demanding vengeance surpassing the number of those still alive would drive Nemesis over the edge and thusly empowered by the demand for vengeance, Nemesis sought to conquer the heavens so that none my stop her from bringing an end to the suffering of the worlds.

Suffering which Nemesis sought to end by ending all life, so that she may finally know peace.

Name: 10 of Spades
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #252 (1978)
Creators: Jack Harris and Jose Delbo
Abilities: Astronaut training. Ability to surf through the skies on a giant playing card. Gun haver. Charming personality.


Backstory: Astronaut who was part of the NASA space program in Houston Texas. Mike Baily joined the program at the same time as Diana Prince. Never aware that she was secretly Wonder Woman who was trying to move on with her life after the latest tragic death of Steve Trevor.

The two of them would find themselves hitting it off as they went through astronaut training together and took missions into space alongside one another. However while Mike Baily scored a 10 as rebound boyfriend material. He was also a perfect 10…Of EVIL!

For in fact despite having a career which most would envy, Mike Baily was part of a villainous group known as ‘the Royal Flush gang’ a band of fiendish criminals who themed themselves after playing cards.

Having the identity of ‘10 of Spades’ within the group, Mike Bailys primary role within the group was to provide intelligence. Rarely actually commiting crimes himself, Mike was aware of where rare and expensive NASA equipment was stored, and would provide the rest of the gang with intelligence for their location. Only acting himself when circumstances required the rest of his gang to serve as a distraction while he took the big prize.

Name: Lira
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #34 (2009)
Creators: Gail Simone and Aaron Lopresti
Abilities: Flight. Super strength. Invulnerability. Mathmatical probability based precognition. Knowledgable about how to cause the greatest pain and project it into her victims.


Backstory: Cybernetic organism created by Professor Anthony Ivo. Lira was programmed with an experimental cruelty algorithm and made to experience joy from the suffering and agony of others.

Reveling in the use of her superior abilities to inflict permanent injuries upon her targets, and her psychosomatic pain drive which lets her project feelings of pain and agony into her victims so intense that it can cause death, Lira existed only to bring death and pain.

Getting involved with the supervillain keeper of death sports, Roulette. Lira would be a willing participant in her death matches. Reveling in the chance to bring about heinous and gruesome murder to people of all sorts in front of cheering crowds.

Name: Major Bradley
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #247 (1978)
Creators: Jack Harris and Jose Delbo
Abilities: Military overseer of ‘Spy on Spy’ with command of their advanced resources. Controls thousands of armed soldiers. Access to advanced technologies. Access to dark magics of ancient evil.


Backstory: The secret commander of the counter counter counter intelligence agency ‘Spy On Spy’ whose focus and resources is meant to be entirely set upon spying on secret spy organizations across the world including those of America in order to keep track of how many there are and what they are up too.

In reality however, Major Bradley like much of the military complex, venerated and worshiped war itself and would funnel resources from the organization in order to funnel them towards his goal of bringing about an endless and perpetual war upon the world which would be never ending.

Discovering the sarcophagus of the all powerful ‘Dark Commander’, which sat beneath New York City, Bradley would set scientists towards the project of reviving it. His soldiers prepared to guard against any who would seek to stop him. Preparing dark magical rituals to aid in the Dark Commanders eventual return, to bring about a world ruled by war.

Name: Dark Commander
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #248 (1978)
Creators: Jose Delbo and Jack Harris
Abilities: Incredible superstrength. Sword haver. Can cause earthquakes. Commands an army of demons.


Backstory: An ancient evil from ages past. The Dark Commander a million years in the past, was an all powerful dark demon which had lead a demonic army which swarmed the Earth.

Traveling endlessly across the world, the Dark Commander and his forces would continuously scour the lands. Murdering all in their wake. No place safe or untouched by their menace for long as they continued their endless travels across the world.

Slain through unknown means and sealed away in a tomb deep beneath the Earth in the hopes that his evils would never return to doom the world once more.

However for those who crave an endless parade of war and bloodshed, that which the Dark Commander promises is to great a temptation to resist, and his followers would seek to restore him to the realm of the living.

A being motivated soley through an unending need to go forward. To slay all in its way. Leading an army of like minded monstrosities who would leave the world barren.

Name: General Gerald Kohler
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #2 (1986)
Creators: Greg Potter and George Perez
Abilities: High ranking official in the United States military with all the power and privilege this carries. Nuke haver. Blessings of Ares.


Backstory: Devout worshipper of Ares. Gerald Kohler was a soldier who reveled in slaughter and bloodshed. Held no shame or hesitance to carry out inhumane and unspeakable horrors upon innocents as an offering to the god of war.

Having served in the Vietnam war, Kohler would torture and slaughter civilians and captured soldiers. Offering their lives and suffering as sacrifice on the alter of Ares. In exchange, the god of war ensured Kohler would be viewed as a soldier of action whose every atrocity carried out in the name of Ares would be applauded instead of reviled.

Becoming a decorated soldier and rising through the ranks until he was a general in the air force, Kohler was well positioned to serve as an agent of Ares to carry out his commands. Be it working to recruit more to his cause within the ranks of the military complex. The quiet demise of someone whose efforts of peace worked against the wishes of war. To arranging off the book quiet genocides through the use of Americas vast stockpile of island destroying nukes.

In the name of Ares, Kohler will kill anyone who stands in the way of war.

Name: George Yedziniak
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #32 (1989)
Creators: George Perez and Tom Grummett
Abilities: High ranking official in the United States military with all the power and privilege this carries. Nuke haver.


Backstory: Friend and ally to Gerald Kohler, George Yedziniak was a general in the United States military who rose through the ranks alongside Kohler after servicing in the Vietnam war and committing mass slaughter and torture of innocents for which he was acclaimed.

Unlike Kohler who did it in service of Ares and a devout worship of war, Yedziniak was motivated by a hatred of those who looked different from him and came from a different country. For in Yedziniak’s eyes, it was all about AMERICA.

A war hungry nationalist who wished to see anyone who didn’t agree with his line of thinking dead, Yedziniak viewed himself as a moral paragon even as he called for wholesale slaughter of anyone whose views clashed with his own.

A staunch voice against the Amazons and their ways of peace, he would do anything to see them dead.

Name: Lady Lunar
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #252 (1978)
Creators: Jack Harris and Jose Delbo
Abilities: Moon based mind manipulation, allowing her to either force her victims to reveal their greatest secrets, or go into a mindless rage known as ‘Moon madness’ which can extend over the range of a city. Flight. Absolute command of gravity, from moving things with her mind, to making things and people have a gravity based attraction to one another. Can control the oceans tides and create tsunamis. unconscious projection of ‘Kryptonite aura’ while under a full moon. Astronaut training.


Backstory: Accomplished astronaut who went through NASA training alongside Diana Prince. Stacy Macklin was a friend and ally to Wonder Woman who aided her in battling the forces of Ares, and even became the champion of Athena for a brief time.

Things would change for Stacy however after a routine job of escorting a space shuttle which had been bathed in mysterious energies from a comet which had broken off from the moon from NASA warehouse in Houston, to STAR labs in Metropolis. For when the shuttle was struck by the light of a full moon, it caused Stacy Macklin to be possessed by a strange and mysterious force.

Declaring herself to be ‘Lady Lunar’, she had the memories of an ancient people who worshipped the moon as a sacred barren treasure which was divine by nature.

Armed with the awareness that humanity has set foot upon the moon, the entity known as Lady Lunar declared this to be the greatest sacrilege, and that humanity must DIE! Thus Lady Lunar would bend all of her effort towards attempting to exterminate humanity and make Earth ‘as barren and pox marked as the beautiful sacred moon!’

However this transformation was moon based in nature and the moment the sun would rise, Lady Lunar would vanish along with her powers, leaving behind Stacy Macklin with no memory or awareness of what she had been doing the moment the sun fell and the moon shown overhead.

Name: Doctor Crawford
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #26 (2017)
Creators: Shea Fontana and Mirka Adolfo
Abilities: Skilled physician. Possesses barbed glove coated in sedative powerful enough to affect Wonder Woman. Amazonian super strength. Amazonian physical health.


Backstory: Medical professional appointed by the military to oversee the Argus agents and ensure they remain in peak physical condition. Doctor Crawford had been working with Wonder Woman for several years, having the opportunity to study Diana and her abilities extensively.

When she came down with the rare ‘Royer-Mays syndrome’ an incurable and fatal genetic disease which claimed her mother. The disease is signaled by coughing and deterioration of motor function, leading to an eventual deterioration of the mind itself. Doctor Crawford swore to fight it.

As luck would have it, Doctor Crawford would stumble across a cure when the military higher ups demanded she discover a way of using Wonder Womans DNA to create a super soldier serum. Realizing that this was her chance, Doctor Crawford took it, and hurriedly taking the serum directly from Dianas blood, Doctor Crawford injected herself with it.

In mere moments, Doctor Crawford gained the incredible physical strength inherent in all Amazons. However she did not contend with the side effects. For trying to tap into the blessings the Amazons possess through genetics and enhancing them came with dramatic effects on the mind.

Doctor Crawford would become violent, aggressive, and combative. Seeking battle and shrugging off injuries with an almost manic glee, Wishing to revel in her new found incredible strength and the glory of battle.

Name: Hamilton Revere
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #29 (2017)
Creators: Shea Fontana and Inaki Miranda
Abilities: Skilled geneticist. Military backing. Possesses a platoon of soldiers with Wonder Womans abilities.


Backstory: Working for the Department of Defense with a cover as a kindly doctor who helps suffering orphans, Hamilton Revere was your garden variety nationalist who worshipped his nation as a a sacred thing who wished to see America…Conquer the world!

When the highest echelons of the department of defense decided to set this course, they would select Hamilton Reverse to work with Doctor Crawfords research and perfect it, in order to create super soldiers with all the power of Wonder Woman.

With the governments aid in setting mercenaries and assassins to go after Diana and her allies in an effort to create a cover story to keep the superhero community from asking questions, Hamilton Reverse under orders of the American government was determined to capture Wonder Woman alive and use her blood to create an army with her abilities. So that America can bring the world to heel.

Name: The Skrill
First Appearance: Wonder Woman tv series episode S2E10 (1977)
Portrayed by:
Abilities: Possession. The skills and abilities of whomever they possess. The means of stealing the mind, memories, and consciousness of an individual, leaving them a human vegetable. Space traveling capability. Gloves which fire paralysis rays. Command of powerful bloodthirsty aliens such as the Sardor.


Backstory: An alien species which is better compared to a plague than anything else. The Skrill were initially a simple and tribal people of their homeworld, due to the unusual nature of their homeworld which made understanding concepts such as geometry, distance, and and the concept of location in relative to oneself.

This would change however when an alien explorer representing the technologically advanced ‘Planetary Council’ would touch down on the mysterious world to explore it, only to discover that the Skrill have as a survival trait, evolved the ability to phase into the bodies of other entities, obtaining command of their abilities, and to an extent, their memories and knowledge.

With this, the Skrill claimed his spacecraft and took to the stars. Their ability to possess other beings allowing them to spread their species across the cosmos, leaping into bodies within the higher echalons of world governments, and conquering whole planets with the general populace none the wiser.

Discovering that to the intergalactic community the most valuable commodity was living consciousness, knowledge, and memories, the Skrill would develop a technology which allowed them to upload the minds of a victim into a crystal which could either be freely accessed for information, or transferred into another body either cybernetic or organic.

The Skrill would become famed amongst the criminal element of the universe for their domination of the illegal ‘mind trade’ selling the conciousness of their victims. For with the Skrills abilities, it was simplicity itself to invade a world, conquer it, and then harvest that world for all of its most valuable minds, and farming for intelligence.

So ominous was their reputation that should it be discovered that even one Skrill exists on a planet, many a space faring civilization would destroy the world in its entirety. So great was the threat that they pose to all civilization.

Name: Kung
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #237 (1977)
Creators: Gerry Conway and Jose Delbo
Abilities: Mastery of martial arts. The ability to transform into any animal real or imaginary.


Backstory: Thomas was born in America to immigrants who spent their lives suffering cruel mistreatment due to their ethnicity, eventually resulting in their deaths.

Washing his hands of America, Thomas returned to Japan, and trained to become a master of martial arts. The mastery of which also allowed him to shapeshift into any animal by perfectly mimicing its motions to the point that he would turn into that animal.

When he heard of the internment of Japanese Americans and discovered that his sister was pretending to be Chinese to avoid being locked away as well, Thomas took on the name of Kung and approached the Japanese government, revealing his abilities.

Becoming an assassin representing Japan, Kung would do what he could to destroy the country he was born from which destroyed his family.

Name: Tezcatlipoca
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #314 (1983)
Creators: Dan Mishkin and Don Heck
Abilities: godlike strength and power. Immortality. The ability to freely shapeshift as he pleases. Possesses the smoky mirror which can alter reality to Tezcatlipocas whim. Can read the thoughts and wills of mortalkind. The ability to control time, twisting it and creating a temporal loop. Command of a multitude of followers from willing mortal followers to Nagual sorcerers. Command over war, jaguars, Hurricanes, the night. Ability to freely travel within and without the multiverse.


Backstory: The Mad God. The Mocker. The Jaguar Lord. The Master of the Smoky Mirror. The The Shadow God. The bringer of Chaos. The Black Tezcatlipoca.

Tezcatlipoca was an Aztec god of great and incredible power who generally focused his attentions on the Earthly realm to the Central America region. Becoming involved when the sorceress Circe courted him in hopes of obtaining power and security from the god of madness.

Later, when the military dictator of the country of Tropidor sought to secure his power, he would make sactifices and offerings to Tezcatlipoca, offering him fealty and worship in exchange for securing Tropidor from those who sought to dethrone him.

A god who revels in bringing about chaos and madness. To Tezcatlipoca, it was all done for the sake of his own amusement. Which in no way diminished the threat he possessed. For Tezcatlipoca could use his smoky mirror to reshape reality to his wishes. Twisting the concept of truth with whatever he wished it to be.


In the Rebirth continuity, Tezcatlipoca sought to imprison the other gods, plotting to conquer the Earth with an army for seemingly no reason than the sake of doing. In this iteration, Tezcatlipoca would reveal himself to be a ‘god of hypertime’ for whom all the different iterations and multiverses are happening simultaneously from his perspective as he interacts with all of them freely.

Name: Bombarier
First Appearance: DC Special Series # 9 Wonder Woman Spectacular (1977)
Creators: Jack Harris, Jose Delbo, and Steve Ditko
Abilities: Flight. The ability to fire explosive blasts from his hands. Invulnerability.


Backstory: Thomas C. Cole was a world war 2 fighter pilot until being shot down. Miraculously surviving, he would awaken unharmed. Having heard a voice which he did not recognize, promising him incredible power when he should need it.

Discharged from the military, Thomas Cole would enter into politics and quickly became a highly positioned congressman who was tasked with overseeing top secret military operations.

Declaring a deep distrust of Wonder Woman in his public persona, he would use his authority to hamper any efforts from Wonder Woman and her allies in stopping the war.

Meanwhile he would reveal that after miraculously surviving the plane crash, that he somehow became blessed with incredible powers. Donning the identity of ‘the Bombardier’ he would declare himself to be the champion of America and fight for the glory of great war.

In reality however, Bombardier became a champion of the war god Mars. Gifted with the war gods medallion which hung around his neck, Thomas Cole and the medallion became a living curse which bound the fates of nazi Germany and America together. Thus for every victory that America claimed, Germany would claim an equal win in turn. For every incredible weapon and hero that America possessed, Germany would have one of equal strength.

All of this was to ensure that the war would keep going with both sides progressively escalating and growing equally in strength, ensuring that neither side would win, and the most glorious war would be ever lasting.

Name: Armageddon
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #234 (1977)
Creators: Gerry Conway and Don Heck
Abilities: Axe haver. Possesses ‘vibro boots’ which can cause anything he strikes to vibrate until it disintegrates. Jetpack haver. Possesses a super serum which can turn anyone into a mindless hulk-like berserker. Wields Poseidons trident. Possesses Neptunes trumpet of translation.


Backstory: His identity wreathed in mystery. Armageddon was a nazi agent driven by both a disgusting belief in eugenics, and an undying hatred for Russia. Acquiring a number of weapons and concotions, he would be sent to America in order to collapse its government so that Germany could conquer the world.

Between scientific inventions which were decades beyond anything possible in the 1950s, and magical artifacts capable of incredible feats, Armageddon was a force to be reckoned with who was fervently dedicated to his twisted beliefs.

Name: Armageddon 3
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #753 (2020)
Creators: Steve Orlando and Max Raynor
Abilities: Super strength and invulnerability. Rocket axe haver.


Backstory: Grandaughter of the original Armageddon. This bearer of the Armageddon mantle was an unwilling subject in the experiments of her father and grandfather. Subjected to inhumane experiments with her DNA being altered and spliced with that of an ogres to give her incredible strength to rival that of Wonder Womans.

Never bearing a name aside from the title of Armageddon which had been bestowed upon her and created for the sole purpose of slaying Wonder Woman, the modern day bearer of the mantle of Armageddon went through torturous experimentation all for the sake of her father and grandfathers ambitions.

Sharing neither her forefathers ideological beliefs, nor their ambitions of somehow aiding nazism towards world domination, Armageddon the 3rd would flee to the Yukon territories of Canada where she would live in solitude in the wilds. For her twisted visage made it impossible for any to look upon her without screaming in terror. Ensuring it otherwise impossible to live a life of peace.

Despite this, Armageddon would be found by Paula Von Gunther who convinced her that the true source of her woes stemmed from Wonder Woman. Arguing that if she slew Wonder Woman, the being she was created to murder, then she would have her revenge and the purpose which she had been raised to would be gone.

Thus Armageddon the 3rd would join Paulas four horsewomen consisting of herself, Paula Von Gunther, Devastation, and Genocide in trying to end the life of Wonder Woman.

Name: Red Panzer
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #228 (1976)
Creators: Martin Pasko and Jose Delbo
Abilities: Machine gun fingers. Mechanical genius. The capabilities and ability to make a time machine which allows him to peer into the future, and send him temporarily to another point in time. Laser fingers. Possesses a jet aircraft. Suit of armor which grants invulnerability, and super strength. Magnesis based flight. Fire 75mm canon shells from his wrist. Commands remote guided missiles.


Backstory: Based out of a secret underground laboratory in Alexandria, Virginia within sight of the Washington monument, Red Panzer was a nazi scientist who had been sent to the Americas in order to destabilize the United States using advanced espionage tools of his own devising for use by the spies of nazi germany.

Helmut Streicher discovered that in the future the nazis are doomed to lose the war and desperate to change it, he swore to the fifty foot tall portrait of hitler in his secret base which he venerates, that he would use his science to change the future.

Thus he would don the identity of Red Panzer and keeping the future to himself, he would seek to alter events, ensuring that Germany would conquer the world.

A villain so respected amongst the nazi community that there would be at least three others to take up his mantle over time.
