Wonder Woman: Encyclopedia of Villains

Name: Trixter
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #31
Creators: H.G Peter and Robert Kanigher
Abilities: The talents of showmanship. Phony magic. Advanced technologies such as anti gravity rays, Holograms, and magnetic repulsion.


Backstory: Claiming to be a great wizard who time traveled to the present day from the year 1313 AD. Trixter was in reality a man from modern times who had created advanced technologies which he intended to use to fool the world.

Claiming to have great magical powers and the ability to grant wishes and miracles, Trixter would perform feats of incredible magic to prove his ability and then claim he needed compounds such as gold and diamonds to make wishes come true.

Why this is the approach he decided to take after inventing a machine that removes the effects of gravity or a device which can make the old look young and the obese look thin is never revealed. But with his loyal henchmen working from the sidelines to operate his more complex devices, Trixter was putting everything he had into these schemes.

Name: Uvo
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #38 (1948)
Creators: H.G Peter and Robert Kanigher
Abilities: Command of the armies of Uranus. Has a large supply of nukes. Ruler of Uranus. Possesses a rifle which can turn people to stone.


Backstory: Ruler of Uranus. Uvo was a bomb happy war lover whose greatest joy was the nuclear weapon. Blowing up Uranus regularly to practice blowing up other planets, Uvo had been spreading war and devastation across the galaxy.

Having tried and failed to devastate the Earth in the past thanks to the efforts of Hippolyta and her Amazons, Uvo dreamed of nuking that world. Practicing in the hopes of fulfilling his dream.

When efforts to probe Uranus’s deep dark crevices for uranium began showing no results due to those mines being thoroughly drained, Uvo decided to turn his efforts to Earth once more. Intending to steal all of the worlds untapped Uranium deposits for the sake of arming new warheads.

Through the use of their calcifying technology to mask their presence on the planet, Uvo would not be satisfied until he got all of that precious uranium shoved back up to Uranus and he could begin delivering nukes to any and all.

Name: Queen Sharkeeta
First Appearance: Comic Cavalcade #21 (1947)
Creators: William Marston and H.G Peter
Abilities: Can breath underwater. Rules over the shark mermaids. Swimming and flight. Shark teeth.


Backstory: Once upon a time she was just an ordinary baby shark baby shark. That is until Gerta Von Gunther the daughter of Baroness Paula Von Gunther scooped up a collection of small sharks and brought them to her personal lab which was adjascent to her mothers own laboratory on the Holliday college grounds.

There, she and other sharks would undergo a special vitamin formula which would evolve them into mermaids. Much to the delight of Gerta who driven FOR SCIENCE! was driven to continue to evolve them.

However Wonder Woman discovering this, would declare the sharks dangerous because sharks, leading to the sharks being moved to a pond on Reformation Island. There, they would be raised in captivity with Gerta secretly continuing her work on them until they became winged mermaids.

Evolving a monarchy, Sharkeera became their leader and swearing to escape captivity, plotted to lead her people in escape. An escape which became easy when they evolved the power of flight, leading to them escaping into the skies and back into the oceans.

There, they would quickly enjoy their freedom of not needing to survive off of bland fish flakes that were peppered into their pond, and plotted their revenge upon the Amazons for imprisoning them!

Name: Orange Invaders
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #83 (1956)
Creators: Rober Kanigher and H.G Peter
Abilities: The ability to be entirely orange. Travel between dimensions. Possession of construction equipment.


Backstory: Hailing from the Orange dimension where everything is orange because that is where the color orange orangeinates, the Orange Invaders are nothing more than jealous colors who wish to see the death of other colours in the cosmos until only Orange is left.

Thus setting their sights on the Blue dimension from which the colour Blue originates, the Orange Invaders cause much destruction and devestation. Slaughtering and destroying until the color of Blue was nearly undone. Plotting to continue their bloody campaign until everything was orange.

Name: The Crime Master of Time
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #53 (1952)
Creators: H.G Peter and Robert Kanigher
Abilities: Time travel. The ability to rip people from different points of time, take on their appearance and place in the time stream, leaving the original trapped at some random point in time.


Backstory: Tibro was a time criminal from the year 2300. The greatest criminal of his era. With none of his time period aware of how he was capable of committing such crazy crimes and escaping from the police whenever he was apprehended.

In truth, Tibro possessed the ‘time beam’ a mind controlled beam of green light which would displace a target from their place in time, sending them lost to some other location in the distant past, allowing him to take their form and place within the time stream to commit his dastardly crimes before vanishing in a puff of smoke. Those he had taken being lost to time.

Using this method, he could commit numerous crimes with impunity. Those whose forms he had taken being left to their sorrowful fate. Though the self proclaimed Crime Master of Time could have effortlessly returned them with but a thought had he but wished.

But by displacing multiple people across time, it allowed Tibro the means of popping up in different time periods in different forms in order to cover his tracks and avoid detection.

For Tibro would seek out priceless treasures which would be of incalculable value in the future and artifacts lost to time that would grant him untold wealth and power. Uncaring who was affected by his criminal malevolence.

Name: Don Enrago
First Appearance: Sensation Comics #80 (1948)
Creators: Robert Kanigher and H.G Peter
Abilities: Master fencer. flashing light based Hypnosis. Master of disguise. Possesses electric murder epees.


Backstory: Fencing instructor hired for the all girls university known as the Holliday college. Don Enrago was misogynistic asshat who only took the job so that he could demean and debase women in an effort to drive them from what he viewed as a sacred sport that should be exclusive to men.

When his efforts of verbal abuse and physical violence failed and the Holliday college fencing teams star fencer Marcia succeeded in besting him in a match, Don Enrago snapped and decided that the only answer…Was MURDER!

Thus Don Enrago would use hypnosis to turn the star fencer murderous, and drive her to injure him to allay suspicion away from himself. Then he plotted to hire henchmen to replace the epees to be used in the upcoming college fencing tournament with sabotaged fakes which would kill their users with electrical bursts.

Using his talents for disguising himself and others to allay blame and an array of sword themed death traps, Don Enrago would not stop until only men fought with pointy metal sticks!

Name: Countess Hatra
First Appearance: Comic Cavalcade #28 (1948)
Creators: William Marston and H.G Peter
Abilities: Leads a pogo army. Has skilled minions to serve her will. Sword haver. Elephant rider.


Backstory: Evil noble of the kingdom of Pogolania. Countess Hatra is the hatless cousin of the king of the country. One who schemed and plotted time and again to usurp the throne and conquer the land which she would rule with an iron fist.

Aided by Kengtung her personal bodyguard and assassin. As well as Kaw the cunningly evil pogo stick technician, Countess Hatra would not be stopped in her quest to usurp the throne and conquer the land!

No matter how many times she fails to take the throne, Countess Hatra would always find a means of slipping away and plotting to try once again. Gloating over how cruel and hateful she would be in order to cow the populace into submission.

Name: Aegeus
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #297 (1982)
Creators: Dan Mishkin and Gene Colan
Abilities: Rides the winged horse Pegasus. Wields a bow and the lightning bolts of Zeus which can destroy anything and cause anything hit by them to teleport wherever he wishes. thought controlled ‘Daggers of Vulcan’ which can cut anything. A winged teleporting horse ‘Discordia’. ‘godkiller arrows’.

Backstory: Greek terrorist with a penchant for murdering people to send a message and having no consideration for human life. Nikos Aegeus and his terrorist cell were causing death and murder when they were approached by the immortal blind cripple Bellerophon who gave Nikos his horse, and a collection of Zeus’s thunderbolts in exchange for his aid in claiming Paradise Island. Leadership of a massive mystical weapon smuggling operation.

With this newfound power, Nikos would go on a spree of terrorism with his newfound gifts until realizing he could use the thunderbolts to teleport himself, he would sneak into mount Olympus where he intended to steal more lightning bolts, only to run into Ares who would become his patron and gift him with the also stolen daggers of Vulcan.

Thus in the name of Ares, Nikos had a newfound goal of causing wars. So full of himself was Nikos Aegeus that he proclaimed to the heavens that he was mightier than Zeus!


In the post crisis era, Nikos would remain unchanged save for him using acts of terrorism to blackmail nations into giving him vast sums of money to make him cease attacks on planes, trains, and automobiles.


In the new 52 era, an added wrinkle in Nikos background would establish that he could trace his ancestry back to the ancient Greek king Theseus which would prompt him to believe himself worthy of anything he wishes. Including godhood which he would attempt to demand of his ancestor Poseidon and his latest patron, a villainous Harmonia.


In the Rebirth era, Nikos Aegeus would be reimagined as an arms dealer who gaining yet another patron in the Queen of Fables, would merge mythological artifacts with modern weaponry to create truly devastating weapons for which there are no defense.

Weapons blessed with the power of gods and myth which he sold to the highest bidder. All to fund his own private army which was likewise armed with various hybrids of mythological treasues and modern weapons of death.
This iteration of Nikos being motivated not by greed or a desire for power, but instead a wish to cause discord and unbalance the world, tipping it into chaos which was his sole reason for his weapon dealing.

Name: Ytirflirk Armada
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #311 (1983)
Creators: Dan Mishkin and Don Heck
Abilities: Large in size and strength. Advanced alien technology. Possession of a sizable space fleet.


Backstory: An alien race of space conquerors. The Ytirflirk are a destructive people whose entire creed is to always destroy and never create.

Obsessed with conquest, the Ytirflirk would get their hands on spacecraft and conquer whole worlds, enslaving their populations to further construct more weapons and ships while also maintaining the already existing technology of the Ytirflirk.

Thus with this system the Ytirflirk would spread across the cosmos, conquering multiple worlds to add to their collection with little ambition or planning for an overall goal or plan beyond furthering their efforts of conquest for that is all that matters to them.

Name: Human Tank
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #63 (1953)
Creators: Robert Kanigher and H.G Peter
Abilities: Protective enamel coating which grants him invulnerable skin which allows him to shrug off any attack and break apart anything by applying enough force. Wields tear gas gun.


Backstory: A greedy criminal thug, Human Tank was a man who having his skin treated with a mysterious enamel compound, gained an indestructible skin which allowed him to shrug off any force or bullet without even feeling it.

This same enamel allowed him to tear apart steel bars with his bare hands, punch through rock, and simply charge through walls to break into any building. Armed with a gun which fired tear gas in order to incapacitate those trying to apprehend him, and the Human Tank was certain that he could not be stopped.

His goal beginning and end was to make himself filthy rich and acquire vast riches by simply rolling in, grabbing whatever looked valuable and running out.

Name: Solo
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #15 (1945)
Creators: Joye Hummel and H.G Peter
Abilities: Ruler of the Neptunian continent of Neptunia and its people. In possession of flying fish, tiger apes, a magnetic 'water whip, paralysis gun, steam gun, the means of turning people into mindless ‘Mechano’ slaves and into ‘Tiger Apes’


Backstory: The ‘Master of masters’ Solo hailed from the planet Neptune. An all male planet where the people area born of the ocean and live upon the Neptunian continents which float upon the oceans surface.

When a great natural disaster is discovered which will with certainty send the continent of ‘Neptunia’ shooting away from their home planet to crash into the Earth, they began devising a means of shoring up and protecting the land mass so it could reach Earth and land without harming its people.

Once this was done, they began preparing for the conquest of Earth with weapons and monsters from their home planet brought along to ensure their success! The continent of Neptunia would crash down in the Pacific Ocean, adding to the Earths mass of land masses.

For on Neptune, all of society is measured by the strong dominating the weak and the more you rule over decided how great you truly were. Thus since Solo could never hope to conquer his own world, he sought the Earth to increase his own importance in Neptunian society!

Solo would not be stopped until the Earth was covered in the sea men of Neptune!

Name: Artemis
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #310 (1983)
Creators: Dan Mishkin and Mark Beachum
Abilities: Sword haver, super strength, flight, the ability to persist beyond death.


Backstory: Hailing from ancient times when the Amazons still lived in the original Themyscyre. Artemis was deemed amongst the mightiest amongst the Amazons and the dearest friend Hippolyta ever had.

After the previous in a line of Amazonian queens perished in battle, a contest was called to determine the new ruler of the Amazons. The winner Hippolyta, would prove herself worthy but second place went to Artemis who by the will of the patron gods of the Amazons became the original…Wonder Woman!

Journeying to the outside world in an effort to change it for the better, Artemis would fall in love with a warmonger by the name of Cleon and manipulated by Ares, she would be convinced to abandon the ways of peace and love in order to aid Cleon in waging war and carving out an empire with bloodshed by her lovers side.

However when this path of bloodshed led to them trying to conquer the Amazons themselves, Hippolyta realized the truth of the matter and revealed Ares manipulations in all of this.

Artemis in her rage at betrayal would swear vengeance on anyone and everyone. Roaming the world in a fit of rage, eventually trying to slay Artemis herself and dying for the effort.

But Artemis’ unquenchable rage never ending, so when the sorceress Circe millenia later gave her the chance to rise from her grave and take her revenge, she did so without hesitation.

Thus the undead Artemis would arise once more, to persist until anyone and everyone who ever earned her ire were dragged to the depths of Tartarus along with her.

Name: Cheetah (Deborah Domaine)
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #274 (1980)
Creators: Gerry Conway and Jose Delbo
Abilities: Chrome steel claws. Peak human reflexes. Mastery of all martial arts.


Backstory: The second of 3 Woman to be the Cheetah, Deborah Domaine, would inadvertently inherit the title from her aunt (the original Cheetah) Priscilla Rich, and serve as Wonder Woman’s feline foe during the Bronze Age. Deborah was a woman born into a family of wealth who saw the ecological plight facing the world with pollution destroying the eco system and smothering the wildlife and declared that she wanted to do something about it!

Joining the Organization for Ecological sanity, a group which chronicled disasters caused by pollution to bring attention to the issues by getting those events recorded and spread to the masses. Deborah would make use of her private yacht and finances to aid the O.E.S in their efforts to aid the world.

When Deborah heard word that her beloved aunt Priscilla was dying, Deborah rushed to her side, unknowingly becoming the victim of Kobra who was seeking out Priscilla because they intended to force the Cheetah to join their organization.

Cheetah presuming that despite Deborah being in the dark about her aunts villainous alter ego would take to it because genetics, proceeded to kidnap her, brainwash her, and then undergo invasive surgery. Rebuilding her and training her to be a new Cheetah. Intent on making her their assassin. To kill in their name.

Taking advantage of Deborahs devotion to ecological activism, they would use this as a focus in their brainwashing. Turning Deborah into an eco terrorist bent on killing those who would destroy the world. Then simply feeding Deborah the narrative that all of the targets given to her were such threats to the planet, they would sit back as she blew up dams and went after political targets. Unknowingly serving their purpose.

When Kobra fell, Deborah would slip through the cracks. Surviving an accident during a fight with Wonder Woman wherin she was presumed dead, Deborah would feeling betrayed, believe that Wonder Woman had abandoned and given up on her.

Thus Deborah would also swear her revenge on Wonder Woman. Swearing to seek out her death for leaving her.

Name: Zara
First Appearance: Comic Cavalcade #5 (1943)
Creators: William Marston and H.G Peter
Abilities: Mastery of pyrotechnics to an absurd degree. Religious figure who leads an international religion with thousands of followers. Flight. Ability to project fire.


Backstory: Born in Arabia. Zara at a young age had been sold into slavery, creating within Zara a burning hatred for society for allowing such things and those in power who encourage it.

Eventually gaining her freedom, Zara would go on to become a talented chemist with a focus on pyrotechnics. Capable of creating new and dazzling displays using fire which none would have thought possible.

Such as paper which can catch fire on command, project an image in flames and a voice to give instructions from great distance. Or temporary tattoos of invisible ink which can on command burn messages into peoples skin whenever Zara willed.

Concocting a plan to form a cult and use religious fervor to drive people under her banner and bring about the downfall of a corrupt civilization and burn away the garbage to purify the world in a cleansing flame.

Zara would use her talents with fire to make herself into a high priestess, inventing a figure known as the ‘Crimson Flame of Life’ a bodyless head that exists in a ball of fire. Proclaiming herself to serve this beings will, Zara would spread her power and influence across the globe.

The cult of the Crimson Flame becoming international with branches in numerous countries, Zara had willing followers by the thousands who used the concoctions of her devising to spread the faith and draw in both those driven by the promise of a flame that would cleanse the world and those drawn in under threat of succumbing to that same inferno.


In the modern era she has displayed pyrokinesis. An ability to project a ‘crimson flame’ hot enough to burn through concrete. and fly upon her own flames. The origin of these abilities is never explored.

Name: Anglette
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #41 (2018)
Creators: James Robinson and Stephen Segovia
Abilities: Possession of the ‘angler’ a triangle that allows one to bend space to ones will. A suit which amplifies the anglers power.


Backstory: A villainess who has inherited the Angler name and less impressive costume of the Angleman. The Angler was a contract villain for hire who would do anything if the price was right.

Her suit somehow amplifying the angler she was using, Anglette was capable of bending space to separate pieces of things from one another unlike Anglemans ‘bend them in half or place them along two points in space’

Not one for fighting heroes by choice, Anglette prefers to use her abilities to make a quick exit when things are not turning out her way.

Name: King Pluto
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #16 (1946)
Creators: H.G Peter and Joye Hummel
Abilities: A collection of flying black horses which can travel through space. A magic fork which allows him to control the planet pluto. Command of a planetary population of hooded wraiths. Can sense the existence of women who wish to commit suicide.


Backstory: Ruler of the planet Pluto which exists within a realm of outer space where the connection between ones soul and body are tenuous enough that they can become separated.

King Pluto ruling a realm of eternal ice, cold, and darkness was a cold and bitter fellow. Fearing the darkness and despising the cold, King Pluto would constantly demand his minions keep fires going to keep him from experiencing cold and darkness.

Able to somehow just know when a woman is wishing for death from a life of abject suffering from events such as a terrible grades in a college finals exam, King Pluto would journey to Earth on his chariot of magic horses, kidnap the one wishing for death, carry them back to his home planet of Pluto, separate the soul from the body, toss the body in an ice flow to keep it alive, and use the glimmering soul as a light source to keep his kingdom alit.

Souls being an eternal source of light, King Pluto would keep a collection of souls about solely for the purpose of giving life to his cold planetary realm. If he was to kill the body then they would become statues giving off eternal life.

If he was to dissolve their souls (because souls are water soluble) then the soul fluid would become a forever glowing liquid which could fill bulbs to provide light. Their bodies becoming the wraiths which populate his world and have consciousness of their own.

Motivated by the desire to make the planet Pluto a place of perpetual light and warmth, King Pluto didn’t care who had to suffer to make this a reality.

Name: Liar Liar
First Appearance: Wonder Woman #759 (2020)
Creators: Mariko Tamaki and Mikel Janin
Abilities: Psychic abilities to control the minds of others and make them see what she wants them to see. Nanomachine implants which increase the power of her psychic abilities.


Backstory: Daughter of Maxwell Lord. Emma Deropalis is a young girl who accidentally came into her powers one day when she ordered her mother to kill herself. Causing her to perform a head on collision with a truck with her inside. A fit of anger born from discovering the identity of her father and that it had been kept a secret from her.

Suffering a severe severe concussion along with other injuries. The accident would cause Emma Deropalis to suffer from multiple issues including schizophrenia and epilepsy. Causing her to suffer from delusions and scew her sense of reality.

Knowing that her father was alive and really the super terrorist Maxwell Lord who had murdered thousands in an attempted coup to conquer the world, Emma Deropalis would initially do whatever she could to aid him only to discover the truth. That she was unwanted.

For despite her belief that her mother hid the truth from her, Emma discovered her father had been aware all the while and wanted nothing to do with her. For she could never be a member of the Lord family if she did anything for anyone else or had any sense of compassion or kindness.

Taking on the moniker of ‘Liar Liar’, Emma would dedicate herself to killing her worthless father. Using his own technology to upgrade her abilities.
