Backstory: Greek terrorist with a penchant for murdering people to send a message and having no consideration for human life. Nikos Aegeus and his terrorist cell were causing death and murder when they were approached by the immortal blind cripple Bellerophon who gave Nikos his horse, and a collection of Zeus’s thunderbolts in exchange for his aid in claiming Paradise Island. Leadership of a massive mystical weapon smuggling operation.
With this newfound power, Nikos would go on a spree of terrorism with his newfound gifts until realizing he could use the thunderbolts to teleport himself, he would sneak into mount Olympus where he intended to steal more lightning bolts, only to run into Ares who would become his patron and gift him with the also stolen daggers of Vulcan.
Thus in the name of Ares, Nikos had a newfound goal of causing wars. So full of himself was Nikos Aegeus that he proclaimed to the heavens that he was mightier than Zeus!
In the post crisis era, Nikos would remain unchanged save for him using acts of terrorism to blackmail nations into giving him vast sums of money to make him cease attacks on planes, trains, and automobiles.
In the new 52 era, an added wrinkle in Nikos background would establish that he could trace his ancestry back to the ancient Greek king Theseus which would prompt him to believe himself worthy of anything he wishes. Including godhood which he would attempt to demand of his ancestor Poseidon and his latest patron, a villainous Harmonia.
In the Rebirth era, Nikos Aegeus would be reimagined as an arms dealer who gaining yet another patron in the Queen of Fables, would merge mythological artifacts with modern weaponry to create truly devastating weapons for which there are no defense.
Weapons blessed with the power of gods and myth which he sold to the highest bidder. All to fund his own private army which was likewise armed with various hybrids of mythological treasues and modern weapons of death.
This iteration of Nikos being motivated not by greed or a desire for power, but instead a wish to cause discord and unbalance the world, tipping it into chaos which was his sole reason for his weapon dealing.
