Stargirl is set in the new Earth 2 after Crisis. The old Earth 2 was destroyed by Crisis and re-created as Stargirl’s Earth.
Well, this is the problem with all these TV adaptations. Do new viewers believe what they see on tv or the original source materials (comics)? The genie NEVER came out of a pen in the comics. Johnny said the magic words “Cei U” which sounded like he was saying “Say you…” Yep, pretty dated stuff. Then again they believe the “Golden Age” of super-heroes was 2010? Maybe if you are 15 then that works.
The genie comes out of a pen with Jakeem in the JLA/JSA crossover in the late 90’s that helped launch the amazing JSA series that followed.

That was about the time I gave up reading comics so I missed those characters. I grew up with the originals.
