There’s no beginning point. DC comics has a history including, just a rough guess here, 60,000 plus comic books. What we can find for you are good jumping on points.

Tell us what interests you. What characters do you like? Any teams? Something made you sign up for this service. Any writers, eras or artists you like?

Let us know who you like and you will get a flood of suggestions. I would suggest editing OP to include your interests.

Any heroes that interest you?

I suggest starting with two videos

Secret Origins History of DC Comics In a hour and a half you will get a broad history of DC Comics, which will give you the background you need for further exploration

Then view
Justice League New Frontiers, which explores Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, the original heroes from the 1950s, the Golden Age of Comics, as the Silver Age of the 1960s begins, with origin stories of Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern, plus the Flash

Finally go to the News Section and
Look (Search Not Available) for Articles by Joshua Lapin Bertune, that start with

Where to Start Reading

Latest is Flash

But other articles unclude

Titans
Swamp Thing
Justice League
Wonder Woman
Shazam
Superman
Batman
Detective Comics four articles

I am “starting” with the New 52 event from 2011 as it essentially relaunches the entire DC Universe. You can read all of the New 52, as I’m trying to do, or just pick characters/books that interest you and read those.

Here’s a link to Phase 1 of the New 52 if you’re interested.

Its really up to your preferences.

New 52 is a great starting place. So is Rebirth. When New 52 launched like 8 years ago, is when I got really heavy into DC. I had read popular graphic novels like TDKR, Hush, Kingdom Come, Red Son, etc but it wasnt until New 52 that I used as a real starting point.

Because, like many new readers, I was intimidated/overwhelmed with all the titles and trying to find a place to start, and then New 52 came along. And eventually moving onto reading popular runs that came before.

New 52 Titles that I recommend based on what I liked a lot and what got good reviews/reception from the industry. And I think these are good starting points.

Batman by Scott Snyder
Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello
Justice League by Geoff Johns
Aquaman by Geoff Johns
Green Arrow by Jeff Lemire
Batman and Robin by Peter Tomasi
Action Comics by Grant Morrison
Swamp Thing by Scott Snyder.
Superman Unchained by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee

I think the New 52 was one of the best relaunches ever. There was so many stellar titles that came from that era.

Rebirth is the 2016 relaunch/starting point, and it also has many really fantastic titles that Ive enjoyed tremendously. I think it was another successful relaunch, it seemed to hit the refresh button on the DC Universe.

Superman by Peter Tomasi
Deathstroke by Christopher Priest
Batman by Tom King
Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka
Flash by Josh Williamson
Super Sons by Pete Tomasi(Read first 12 of Superman first)
Teen Titans by Ben Percy
Nightwing by Tim Seeley
Green Lanterns by Chris Humphries
All-Star Batman by Scott Snyder

As others in this thread said

Both
New 52, in 2011 and
Rebirth in 2016
Are fresh starts, not requiring much prior knowledge

For the Big Four, I suggest

Superman Lois and Clark, followed by Superman 2016, introduces Jon Kent

Batman,2011. Others prefer 2016

Wonder Woman, 2016. Others like 2011

Aquaman 2011. 2016 is good too.

I liked Green Lantern 2016 also.
