The first that I purchased was Man of Steel # 37. I wanted to buy a comic with Alex Rossā€™ beautifully painted battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin as viewed from an office window, but my dad wouldnā€™t let me get it. lol

I didnā€™t buy it but my Dad did for me Action Comics #529. I was at a Mark Waid signing at my local shop, Downtown Comics, and Mark and I were comiserating over Superman and I mentioned that my first Superman comic was but could not remember the issue at the moment. He had me describe the cover: Perez art, Superma over a volcano and Lois and Jimmy in helicopter and he got it off the top of his head.

Joker issue 1 at a flea market a few minutes walk from my home. The most mint condition comic Iā€™ve ever seen. It was issued 1975 so I bought it cuz thatā€™s my birth year. It was 1983. Been DC fan ever since.
