Huh, was it announced in the past that the Harley Quinn: Eat Bang Kill and King Shark would also debut on alongside DCUI? That’s really cool!

Paging @Razzzcat and @Mae!

I would love to see the Silver Age trades start up again. I am collecting Green Lantern, all the Superman family books, Doom Patrol, and Justice League of America.

Very happy to see Action Comics #600, and also happy to see that some of the already-digitized Aquaman (1962) issues will be coming soon, especially issue #1.

That said, I’m disappointed that Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis #49 isn’t listed. Is there any chance that it will actually be coming on 8/3, but it accidentally got left off the list? There are only 4 archive releases listed for that week instead of the usual 5, so I’m hoping that it was just an oversight. :crossed_fingers:

If not, then #49 will be the only remaining digitized issue from this book that won’t be on here, and I’d like to request that it be added.

Hey Kookie,

It’s not a mistake that Sword of Atlantis #49 isn’t listed, though I’m not sure what the status of that issue actually is. I’ve reached out to our content team to see if it’s just missing or there’s another circumstance preventing it from being on the platform. I’ll let you know when I know!

Seeing The Conjuring comic on this list made me really happy. This along with the same-day release for Soul Plumber is great news for DC horror comic fans.

I am excited about classic comics “RESTORED” not those nasty scans you people keep posting, why are you even paying some one to scan and photoshop blur those monstrosities? It is a waste of money.
DC has published hundreds of reprint collectionS since the 2000s, there are literally several thousands classic comics fully restored and properly colored to be posted to DCU, why do you insist on posting ugly and often unreadable scans? It makes no sense what so ever.
stop adding scans, they are nasty.

You pay a fee you are not a begger you are a client, DCU is not free, Marvel Unlimited adds several dozens classic books per month and none are scanned, go figure.

Thanks for the feedback, it’s appreciated!

Our archives team is fairly small and working with limited resources. This is why, more often than not, the classic comics are scans rather than full restores. I can appreciate that that’s disappointing for you and I will let the team know that you feel they should be approaching the task with a ‘quality’ perspective, not ‘quantity’.

Thanks Alec much appreciated, but don’t you guys have access to DC digital files?
There are several hundred already restored books you guys can add using digital files from DC classic omnibus reprints and DC archives, thanks.

I appreciate you taking the time to pass this feedback along. Some clarification though - It’s not really a “quality over quantity” issue, but rather a utilization of resources.

What Giampi is saying is that often there is no need to scan old issues to create new content. There is better source material already available via the thousands of issues that have been restored for physical (and in some cases digital) collections. Digital files of those already exist elsewhere in the DC vaults.

A couple examples:
Superman (1939) #233-238, 240-242
These issues are scans on both DCUI and Comixology (CMX). However, “Superman: Kryptonite Nevermore” was recently released as a hardcover AND as a digital collection on CMX and other outlets. There was money spent to beautifully restore the art

Sgt Rock (Our Army at War)
Not a single issue is available digitally (for subscription or for sale). There are 4 volumes of DC Archive hardcovers covering the Sgt Rock stories from Our Army At War #89-139. DC has restored files used to publish these that could be utilized for digital content. This same scenario applies to several characters including Hawkman, Plastic Man, Enemy Ace, Lois Lane, The Atom and more.

It’s clear there is access to the files restored on the physical side. For example, after “Batman: Brave and The Bold: The Bronze Age Omnibus” V 1 & 2 were published, the files were utilized for great looking digital single issues. However, that process is not complete. Some issues in the series are still the old scans.

We can post a more complete directory of collections to look for in the “Comic Book Print to Digital Request Thread”

Guys, its high time for some more vertigo on the service. I know we got all sweet tooth just the other day, but the truth is that there’s still a lot of ground to cover there. Can we may e include a few guaranteed vertigo issues on the archive drops?

Hello! Due to various reasons including contractual obligations and publishing rights etc, we’re not always able to add Vertigo comics to the service. However, we do our best to add them where possible, and I’ll be sure to pass your suggestion up to rest of the team. :orange_heart:

Eh. Action Comics 600 I guess is a step in the right direction, but how about filling in those gaps in the Bronze Age. #463 would have been good to have available in July, same with Superman 300. Superman 297-299 should also still be a priority.
As mentioned before, we’ve been hoping to see these issues since launch, and I don’t see myself want to pay for another year without more bronze age Superman material.

That’s how I feel too. The responses in the past from moderators that said reader feedback helps provide a roadmap for what’s already been planned is more than a little discouraging.

I’m really sorry to hear this :frowning:, we definitely do pass all suggestions and feedback up to the team. Unfortunately, we cannot make promises on if/when something will be added to the service. All we can do is let the team know that these titles are highly requested, which I will pass on to them again on your behalf.
