Isn’t Batman '89 #1 already on the service?

Superman son of kal-el!

I haven’t been able to catch up on it because someone drove their car through the local comic shop, but now I’ll be able to read it all!!!

YAYAYAY!!!

Not complaining, I know y’all have a ton on your plates, but it feels like there’s not much in the way of back issues this month? Don’t get me wrong more Milestone is always a wonderful thing, but no classic Batman? Superman? Flash?

The Milestone shiny-shines are right up my alley.

Crime Syndicate #6’s arrival likely means I’ll be dusting off the Justice League Book Club to focus on the title as a whole, as that was one nifty mini.

It sure is! I’ll go ahead and fix that and then get a confirmation from the content team.

Yep, for this month and last month, backlist issues have been reduced to 3 issues per week from 5 issues per week. This is likely a backlog caused by the holidays and we have passed on a fair amount of feedback so far this year about the reduced backlist issues, so hopefully they will get back up to speed sometime later on this year!

Glad to hear it! I cannot overstate how much I want to read the missing Superman and Flash issues from the 70s / early 80s

I’m sure for the folks who subscribe to DC universe infinite but also regularly buy the newest comics it’s very important that this archiving be a very active situation.

Personally I almost totally have stopped buying new comics and simply read off of the unlimited or infinite digital subscription services. So while I love the Silver and Bronze Age comics and would love to see more digitized, I’m okay at this point with the slow amount of production.

I am very much in the minority on this. Almost no one depends on DC Universe Infinite totally for their reading lol.

Noted!

Obviously there’s tons of series in the archives that we need to get to work on and the team usually plans out what’s being digitized and when pretty far in advance, but we’ll make sure that this is on the radar for them just in case

I agree, the archives are a huge bonus for this service, especially for the rarer series. The team does as much as they can with the resources that they have, but we pass this feedback on regularly to remind the powers that be that the backlist issues are important!

I do! :raised_hand:

Good to hear! I’d say that the vast majority of my comics reading is backlist issues, especially Post-Crisis. I’m really hoping we get more of Connor Hawke’s Green Arrow run, since I know a lot of people who want to go back and check him out since his appearance in Robin!

Why no digital early release books this month? (FWIW - There were none in January, either.)

Just like The Batman Adventures #29-#36 & The Batman Strikes #22-#50 are important as well.:slightly_smiling_face:

There have only been 3 back issues a week this month also. Sure there are reasons, hope the are not to bad of ones. But I am baffled if they are only archiving three a week right now, that New Guardians is one of them. The Milestone makes sense, but either as part of DC Universe Infinite, Comixology, libraries or anyone else they archive for I can’t imagine there will be much interest for that book.

It is especially baffling because they archived the first issue of Zatanna and Superboy the Secret Years. And yes, neither of those are mega popular but I can’t imagine more people would care about New Guardians over either of those. Or that the first issue of a Superman mini-series is selling many copies or being read much here. Unless they read it assuming the rest are coming and for 2 months they will be dissapointed with that, especially if they paid money for the first issue. Which then creates negative customer experience.

It’s just baffling to me. I get even the most obscure titles are someone’s favorite, but if you are only archiving three a week make them count.

Free all the Ditko Charlton Comics… The DC archives prints are going for a pretty penny on resale market.

Pennyworth look really interesting to read, Alfred finally getting his own…

 He’s really not going to let me have a look. Hey @Alec.Holland, do you know if this based on the TV series? I’ve never seen it, looking forward to watching it on HBO Max.:grinning:
