But Batman has certain heroic and altruistic qualities that make him BATMAN.

What stories of altruism can you share-- when you were Batman, or you saw someone else be BATMAN?
Being me.
I don’t think this thread will get very far because altruism is best done in secret
but I think my Dad pretty great he helps people all the time and expects nothing in return
Childhood trauma? An obsessive vengeful streak? A very suspect no-kill rule that doesn’t hold up under scrutiny?

Well, I lost someone I love to murder, so there’s that. Beyond that, I like to think I have a good moral compass and a desire to see justice done. I honestly care about others. I think Batman’s altruism is something often overlooked in some interpretations of the character.
For real-life examples, I saved my elderly neighbor’s life. I have also helped people with car trouble along the roadside, among other things.
I’m not sure if I can call myself altruistic its true I help people but I never seek it out
people just show up so I help them I never go anywhere because I can’t drive I’m pretty sure most people don’t even know I exist but despite that I still get to help people all the time I’m not rich or strong the only thing for sure I am is here
