I enjoy Mark Miller’s novels but is there any other really good ones?
The killing joke!
Black Mirror definitely
R.I.P. or Knightfall
The Dark Knight Returns
Dark Knight Returns
Batman endgame written by Scott Snyder
“Hush” by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee.
“Noel” is good. Bermejos art is always on point. Also any of the Loeb/Sale collaborations are fantastic.
I’ve always liked The Cult. My favorite arc that I want to see in collected graphic novel form is Year 3. Anything written by Azzarello gets into my top faves lists.
Batman Hush
“Hush” and “Noel
If it’s all the same to you, I’m going to disregard the “graphic novel” part and just lay out some great Batman (or Batman-inclusive) storylines. These are in no particular order.
- Batman R.I.P.
- Anything by Scott Snyder (Court of Owls, Zero Year, Endgame, All-Star Batman)
- Final Crisis and The Return of Bruce Wayne
- Rock of Ages (from Grant Morrison’s run on JLA)
- Batman & Batman and Robin Eternal
- Futures End
- Batman: Earth One
- The Dark Knight Returns
- Hush
- The Killing Joke
These are just 10. I mixed some well known ones with some that I fell are under appreciated. They’re all great!
Under the Red Hood and Death of the Family
And Hush
