What DC Comics Digitized This Week

Same here @TheDemonEtrigan
I was quite pleased to see both America vs. the JSA and Deadman.

America vs. the JSA gives me hope that the last issues of the first Batman Adventures will eventually be digitized. Right now, they’re only available in the last collection of the series.

And Deadman, which reprints classic tales, gives me hope that we’ll see the Dr. Fate series that reprinted the Flash back-ups, as it was one of DC’s reprints series alongside Deadman and New Gods.

I have to say it is kind of weird how many of the reprints DC digitizes and puts up here. I think Marvel Unlimited has the right idea: put up only the original issues, leave all reprint issues as holes (see Uncanny X-Men) and put up the original back up features from reprint series (like Classic X-Men).

To add to your list, “Backlash and Taboo’s African Holiday” also came out this week.

That’s great to see WildC.A.T.S Annual #1. I hope more of WildC.A.T.S volume one is finally on the way. More of Stormwatch volume one would be nice too.

@ Vroom,
Thanks! I completely overlooked that.

Backlash and Taboo’s African Holiday (1999) #1

There was an Image series I liked, but I forgot the name of it.
I should figure out what it was and see if it’s under Wildstorm or not.

If you’re thinking of Backlash, there’s his solo book and WildCore. Those are both here.

I just looked it up. I was thinking of Weapon Zero. And it’s Top Cow.

Those DC Comics Presents specials that honored the Legend of Legends Julius “Julie” Schwartz are mighty tempting to re-read. I’m going to try and hold out until all of them are available here to then do a binge read on.

Thank you for the update.

Thanks, @Vroom.

I wish they would digitize the rest of the ‘Silver Age’ event from a while back.
Think they only digitized one issue so far. And it wasn’t even the Secret Files issue.

I am thrilled to see “Superman’s Girlfriend Lois Lane #2” digitized.

Now I’m holding on to hope that some of the wild early pre Kirby “Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen” will be added.

@LeonardoMyst Wow, thank you so much! Are those annuals digitally available yet?

@Vroom I just checked and DCU has all the Armageddon Annuals except for

Superman, Batman, Justice League America, Action Comics and Justice League Europe.

It should be noted that the Justice League Europe Annual is written by Gerard Jones and not trying to drag that issue out again, but it would make it likely that one won’t appear on here or comixology any time soon. Unfortunately the JL Europe one was the only annual to really have any true tie into to the series, as it lead directly into Armageddon 2001 #2, but still not really a necessary read to follow the story.

But given they added the mini-series I could see them adding the other annuals in the near future to the library. It is one of the few crossover events they have that is missing so many of the tie-ins. Especially since the ones in question are Superman, Batman and Justice League titles. So not like these are from lesser known books… hell the lesser known titles ironically all have their Armageddon issues.

I forgot to say it in my last post, but I also want to add that anyone who hasn’t read Flash Annual #4 should consider reading it, as it is IMHO the best of the Armageddon Annuals and a good story even as a stand alone.

Thanks as always DTMO1.

I knew as soon as I posted, that Adventures of Superman Annual #3 was available digitally, but I wasn’t aware of the others. I’ll have to snag that Flash Annual, it sounds interesting.
