What are some of your favorite comic series?

Cool topic, @Frostbite30! I love seeing everyone’s selections! All of the comics that I have recently read (and am currently reading) have been amazing! And as I move on to a new series, their stories and adventures have stayed on my mind. I’ve even purchased a few in paper form because I find them to be that special!

  • Deathstroke Rebirth

  • Kamandi: The Last Boy On Earth

  • Convergence

  • Batman and Robin The New 52

  • Batman The New 52

  • The Untold Legend of The Batman

  • Birds of Prey (1995)

@ZatannaAndHerSpells, I have Gotham Academy on my “To Read” list. The art style and direction are really charming and I look forward to diving in!

@Row.Harper, I adore Batman and Robin The New 52!

Kamandi is an excellent choice, @TravisMorgan!

Great pics, @rabidlaughter!

You should read Batman and Robin eternal if you haven’t read it yet

Really old but Jack Kirby’s Fourth World from the early 1970’s. I read it on and off as kid when it first came out, but wasn’t able to get a hold of all the issues at the time. Really wonderful and I honestly believe Kirby’s best work. Working my way through the whole interconnected series right now.

Hellblazer
The Demon
Specter
Zatanna
JLD
Swamp Thing
The Question
Green Arrow
Red Hood and the Outlaws (Arsenal and Starfire)
Doctor Fate (not so much the New 52 stuff)

That’s really my favorites. I read a much larger variety though.

Camelot 3000 - written by Mike W. Barr and art by Brian Bolland.

The best mix of mythology and modernity I’ve ever read, and yes, that includes every incarnation of Wonder Woman (which is says a lot about how good it is.)

It’s also important in the history of comics, as the first series to ever be printed on Baxter paper, and the first series sold only directly to comic shops. The model that is still used today.

This is a tough one because there have been so many great series over the decades but once again I’ll give it the old college try --and try to be brief.
Batman:Year One
Daredevil: Born Again
The Man of Steel (John Byrne)
Fantastic Four (the first 100 issues by Lee and Kirby)
Spider-Man by Lee, Ditko and Romita
The New Teen Titans
Superman by Dan Jurgens
Batman by Adams and O’Neil
Justice League of America by Len Wein
Adventure Comics: Starring Superboy and The Legion of Super-Heroes
The Avengers (first 100 issues by Lee, Thomas, Heck and John and Sal Buscema)
Sueprman: The Sand-Creature storyline by O’Neil, Swan, and Anderson
Swamp Thing by Len Wein And Bernie Wrightson
Green Lantern and Green Arrow by O’Neil and Adams
Daredevil by Miller, O’Neil and Mazzucchelli
The Flash by Infantino, Fox and Broome
And, I should probably stop here or this could go on forever. But all the above books had incredible runs with amazing art and stories by some of the greatest creators to ever grace this wonderful medium.

Batman: Under the Red Hood
Red Hood Lost Days
Red hood and the outlaws (rebirth)
Nightwing (Rebirth) All if it… yes, even ric
Young Justice (2019-)
Red Hood/Arsenal
Batman the Dark Knight Returns
Batman Long Halloween(currently reading)
Old Man Logan (from beginning through Dead man Logan)
Marvel- Annihilation
Spider-Man 2099

P.S.
You can really tell I like Red Hood so it is probably biased. I’m going to try daredevil born again

I also enjoyed Batman & Robin Eternal. I also liked NML, Detective Comics Rebirth, and Batgirl (2000 & 2008). There are many more but these are a few that stick out off the top of my head.

I find myself attracted to runs rather than whole series’. But since we’re talking about a whole series I would have to say Grayson. The art was sleek, sexy, and CONSISTENT. The writing was great and the pacing was also consistent. Everything was well thought out so that nothing was loose end and the ending didn’t feel rushed or forced.

Honorable mentions:
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batgirl: Year One
Robin: Year One
Titans Hunt
