Shortly after that Grant Morrison retconned that and made her the niece of the original one so now we have both.The events of Batman Incorporated are still Canon I believe

For as much as I like Betty Kane as Batgirl (its just soooo CCA) the retcon of Barbara Gordon as Batgirl was waaaaaayyy better.
