We’re teaming up with the DC History Club to celebrate both the Constantine TV series, but also it’s history and orgins! So, get ready to deep dive into all things Constantine!
Based on the wildly popular comic book series “Hellblazer” from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. He fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he’s decided to abandon his campaign against evil until a series of events thrusts him back into the fray, and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line, Constantine will use his skills to travel the country, find the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all.

Constantine Fact John Constantine: Constantine officially debuted in The Saga of the Swamp Thing#37 in June, 1985 as a supporting character guiding and irritating Swamp Thing. However, he had appeared two weeks early in Crisis on Infinite Earths#4 wearing a green suit instead of his normal trench coat. Writer Alan Moore created Constantine after Steve Bissette and John Totleben said they wanted to draw someone who looked like Sting of The Police. Moore wanted to contrast older proper DC mystics with a blue-collar streetwise warlock. Constantine’s Vertigo series Hellblazer was launched in 1988. Running for 300 issues, Hellblazer’s writers included Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison, Neil Gaiman, Brian Azzarello, Andy Diggle and more.
My topic in the DC History Club on Constantine will start late this week.
I just want everybody
To understand
That starting with
Episode 3 is fine.
It is an excellent episode with no plot holes
It is also very early in the series.
The lead female character and actress was replaced in Episode 1 and the character Zed shown only in a very brief last scene therein This is the first good look we get at the character Zed, after her introduction in a very mediocre Episode 2.
There is enough exposition in episode 3 so you will understand who the main
Characters in this series are:
Constantine, Zed, Chaz and the angel Manny,
as well as
the Mill House headquarters
and the map which quides them to the supernatural event of the week
In Episodes 5 and maybe even Episode 3,
Some aspects of Chaz
will confuse you.
Just go with it .
The story of Chaz
is given in episode 10.
You haven’t missed any explanation.
Not different actor, different Jim Corrigan, Multiverse and all. John said Stephen Lobo isn’t the Corrigan he knows, which means NBC Corrigan is still a factor.
But even in the universe
That this John Constantine
Inhabits in the NBC TV series
There are strong indications
About the ultimate fate
Of his world’s Jim Corrigan
At the end of the episode
But not just yet
Given the stakes raised
In the NBC series
It is hard to believe
They were just dropped
As John participated
In the Arrowverse universe.
Either
John succeeded
In his quest
In an untold tale
Or some of his memories
Have been erased
So he did not continue
Or the CW version
is a different
Constantine
From the NBC version.
Hiya everyone! Sorry missed last week. Had personal stuff but here this week. Just found out episode 3 is where I actually left off in the series when I watched it on here previously!
