Great movies; Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner will always be on a Superman size pedestal for me. That doesn’t mean WB can’t find success with something that is current.
Give it 5 or so issue and at least give it a chance
I may not have the strongest opinion on JLI one way or the other, but I do like the Martian Manhunter cookie thing. But to be clear, I preferred it when they were called Oreos instead of using a fake brand name. (And the gag would obviously be funnier if he preferred Hydrox.)
I understand your frustration, though. I absolutely despise the recurring shawarma gag in the film The Avengers. Yes, it’s a word that sounds funny to Western ears. I get it, Joss.
To be fair, “going out for shawarma” line was one of RDJ’s improvisations.
Lmfao! I actually just started choking!
Don’t worry I got water before talking about the choking part
Not me. I’m way too picky an eater.
I am not grim. I am escapist fantasy.
I’m not sure if this has been said yet, (or if it’s necessarily an unpopular opinion) but Jason Todd was a thousand time more interesting as villain rather than an antihero/hero.
That is a very popular opinion about my son.
Identity Crisis is not a good story and it’s done more harm than good in the years since.
I am not sure if it is nessecary “unpopular”, but I did not really like Len Wein’s Blue Beetle, which is a run that seems to be generally well regarded among Blue Beetle fans.
I found it to be a bit too middle of the road and tepid, where Ted went through the same conflict (not having enough time to run kord Industries and be blue beetle) over and over with very little long term character growth. The biggest problem I have is that the very last issue is him walking away from Kord Industries after the building is destroyed by a supervillian. Not only does it make almost every previous story about the struggles Ted had running Kord Industries feel inconsequential, but it also reads to me as Len Wein acting petty about the series getting cancelled
If it was not for JLI, I would have no interest whatsoever in Ted Kord.
Honestly, you could probably read Wein’s Secret Origins story about Blue Beetle and get about as much information as you need. Nice Gil Kane art, as well.
I love Ambush Bug, but I’d 100% agree when it comes to Justice League International.
Y’all are just killing my MAD Magazine reading ass over here. There are many forms of humor I do not like myself.
Season 3 of Doom Patrol, for me, was not as enjoyable as the first two. The “weirdness” factor seems like it was there just to be there and lacked the humor of seasons 1 & 2. The “total infatuation” or whatever the heck it was called made no sense to me. Also, the more Cyborg is on the show, the more disservice I feel it does for the character. Think he’s been deconstructed enough.
Now I wonder what could have possibly changed between the first two seasons and the third?
If there’s an insinuation here, I’m honestly clueless
Starting to feel that Batman is in need of a fresh take. Still love the character, but it’s starting to feel like every other story/run is just looking for another way to break him, like DC is just overly indulging in the “Dark” and ignoring the “Knight”.
They should make emphazing me as a doting dad to Robin.
