Think You Know John Constantine? Get Featured in DC Universe Encyclopedia!

This week, we’re asking DC fans to submit their fun trivia facts about a character who isn’t known for his glowing personality, but when it comes to the occult, he’s the best investigator there is. Like anything in life, however, his skill set comes with a price.

A notorious con man and grifter whose past has a body count, this character’s moral compass is as gray as can be. He’s an expert sorcerer and magician, but also an accomplished liar and thief known for his vices, self-loathing and on-again-off-again death wish. His abilities have afforded him the opportunity not only to cheat death but to trick the forces that govern Heaven and Hell…meaning he has no shortage of powerful enemies.

Of course, we can only be talking about the one and only John Constantine!

Let us know all your little-known intel in the comments below, and it could be selected for featuring in our new “Trivia” Encyclopedia section! Anyone whose Fun Facts are selected will receive a rare “Daily Planet Editor” badge!

Remember – All facts MUST be cited with their source to be considered for- it can be any source! Just be sure you cite it.

Would You Like To Know More?

—CITE your facts with a credible source by providing a link, a magazine, commentary, DVD featurettes; anything that can validate your fact.

—If we are not able to VALIDATE your fact, or if it does not fit the tone of our Encyclopedia entries, we may not use the fact right away.

—If REPEAT facts are submitted that we would like to use, the first user to post that fact will receive the credit.

—You can submit AS MANY facts as you’d like! However, submission to this thread DOES NOT guarantee that your fact will be selected for featuring in the Encyclopedia. The selection process is entirely up to the discretion of DC Universe.

Alan Moore, Steve Bissette, and John Totleben used the musician Sting as the visual inspiration for John Constantine. In Swamp Thing #51, Constantine even pops up on a boat named “The Honorable Gordon Sumner” (Gordon Sumner is Sting’s real name).

John’s name is constantly mispronounced. Constantine (like fine, line, mine, etc.) not Constanteen.

Careful on this one, mates. It’s tricky business separating fact from fiction when it comes to Con Job Constantine. The bloke lies like a bleedin’ rug.
